f**k.
Long ball (often colloquially referred to as 'hoofball') is the term used in association football to describe an attempt, often speculative, to distribute the ball a long distance down the field via a cross, without the intention to pass it to the feet of the receiving player.

It is a technique that can be especially effective for a team with either fast or tall strikers. The long ball technique is also a through pass from distance in an effort to get the ball by the defensive line and create a foot race between striker and defender.[1] While often derided as either boring or primitive,[2] it can prove effective where players or weather conditions suit this style; in particular, it is an effective counter-attacking style of play in which some defenders can be caught off-guard.

Ayr have had a goal disallowed and one cleared off the line i'm hearing. Plastic whistles must be going mental.

It would have been nice if tonight would have been that one and only game.

Getting worried? They're winning games now and on a bit of a run.

Going by the updates we seem to have been the better team but have wasted a lot of opportunities.

Half time now, sounds like we've had most of the play, with Hyde and Milne ballooning chances over the bar. Time for Finnigan.

Was working late so making do with FalkirkTV tonight. How I've missed our impartial commentators Posted Image

Tuned in after about 20 minutes and there hasn't been much in the way of chances for either side. We look fairly comfortable in possession but have given the ball away cheaply on a couple of occasions. I'd happily settle for the scoreline as it is at the moment.

We're not playing tonight, but I'm shitting it. Bloody nightmare if both Ayr and Raith pick up points tonight.

A few corners and shots over the bar as well according our updates, although I appreciate they are probably biased.

Partick's hilarious result is keeping us in the top half, and Tidserou get a half-decent rest for Saturday's game. Pleasing night's work so far.

No surprise. According to Matt Elder from Fife Free Press who's updating on twitter tonight our defence fell asleep yet again.
