We must remember that in time of war what is said on the enemy's side of the front is always propaganda and what is said on our side of the front is truth and righteousness, the cause of humanity and a crusade for peace.

I am not one of those who in expressing opinions confine themselves to facts.

I think you'll find such was in such a hurry to register and start stirring things he couldn't even spell saintsfan correctly.

This is either an opposition supporter or a journalist who has decided to post the link from Black & White Army in order to get a reaction and/or make a story.

Oops didn't even notice that.

Non-story anyway. Bloke goes to watch his team play on his day off, morons recognise him and sing his name. Not much he could do about it.

The Celtic fans didn't even know who he was untill he signed for us this season.

They wouldn't of been able to spot him in the street walking by them!

Funny how Celtic fans are in such a good mood now, 6 months ago they were all ready to slit their wrists.

I'm struggling to see what the story is here. McGowan was at the Celtic game? Celtic fans started chanting at him?

McQuade McLuskey was promptly punted after that, although it wasn't the only reason it was a contributing factor.

Personally I have no problem with players supporting other teams so long as..

1) They don't show any lack of effort when playing their supported team.
2) They don't show any lack of respect to my club when they are under contract to us.

I think this would be the same sorts of things any fan would expect of their players and who is so blinded to think that a player only supports the team he is at. After all Steven Thompson played for Rangers despite being a lifelong St Mirren fan.

Edited for being a muppet.

A St Mirren player wanting Celtic to win?????

Surely not!!!!! Dont believe this for a second.

By the way, Francesc Fabregas - he whom so many of you jizzed yourselves over in one of your polls not so long ago - found what I said interesting & enlightening enough to ask me to write for Tell Him He's Pele (I declined, saying if he should be asking anyone it should be HJ). To paraphrase a popular line from this forum's resident wannabes, "just let that sink in".

(Cue tear stained meltdowns from my stalkers like Addie hereafter - how many times is that now you've turned up "accidentally" viewing my profile?)

Interested in what Addie is doing when not on Pie and Bovril? Wondering what Marjory is baking at the Motherwell Woman's Institute this week? Wonder what team Addie supports this month? Follow me on twitter if you are that interested but don't go expecting anything interesting. In fact it's pretty shite in all honesty.

Yes it was, sorry. Although to be honest McQuade and McLuskey were equally effective as each other and failed to make any impact. Is it a surprise that I got the names mixed up.. ;)

What was the guy supposed to do?

Announce, "I say you chaps, I would rather you cease and desist with the linking of my name to a group not only responsible for acts of terrorism on the British mainland and Ireland during the 19th Century, but also implicated in attempts by the United States government to undermine the independence of Canada, it is considered rather bad show, what?", and probably get a kicking for his trouble?

(Come to think of it, he'd deserve a kicking for saying that anyway!)

Or grin and bear it? It's hardly on a par with certain footballers being best buddies with gangster thugs, and certainly no worse than Henrik Laarson mealy-mouthing about how much he disapproved with the reworking of the hymn "Give Me Joy In My Heart" involving himself and the IRA only after he left.

John Robertson was a loyal Hibs fan right down to publicly telling Wallace Mercer "screw you" during the Hands Off Hibs campaign. It didn't stop him single handedly handing out many a defeat to them whilst playing for Hearts.

Okay, we know that the Axis of Evil are a "special" case - Ally McCoist's unforgiveable penalty miss for Kilmarnock (which he later admitted after leaving the club was on purpose expecting a round of applause for his "loyalty" to the "cause", and f**k his former employers) was hardly the only occasion of players lying down if their half of the Old Firm were playing. but unless Paul McGowan actually lies down on the field in a match against Celtic, this is a non-event.

The irony is, come the next match between these two, the poor bugger's going to have to try twice as hard to "prove" to his current employers he can be relied on, so this incident may work out in St Mirren's favour.

:D

Maybe he misheard them and thought they were singing "Paul McGowan's Lesbian Army" - would explain the pleased look on his face! :D
