Craigie did not ask for a decision on friday night they asked for an answer on switching the match if the pitch failed an inspection at 9 on saturday morning . Nothing to do with transport.

Fed up with this already Peebles have copy of an e mail sent from craigie saying they
required a decision by FRIDAY as they had a bus booked and would need to cancel
if need be This e mail will be sent to the EOSL with a a letter of explanation

And why was there a pitch inspection at 10:15am and the game was called ON? Yet the game was not played .

Who cares? Sooner the pyramid comes in, the sooner forward thinking clubs can move forward and the rest can fall by the sword. Peebles have a great history but the current regime are ruining it. Sooner they and other poorly run teams are gone the better. Too many useless teams getting in the way at all levels, starting with sfl.

Council workers line Fernieside and left the place in a state, Tynie to complain to Council.

Seems appalling that the Council left the pitch in this state, seems that pitch was marked on Thursday afternoon, discovered on Friday morning that it was a mess, but Council couldnt come out to sort it as they get a half day on Fridays! Couldnt make it up!!

complain to the council !!!

how much of a committee do they have ???

How many lines do you see often on a fitba/rugby league park in England and a game gets played ??

Wouldn't take much effort to disguise lines ??

3 times now this game postponed surely a neutral venue or forfeit home advantage to rosewell makes sense !!!

Hope eos committee can see this as total embarrassment to non league senior fitba !!!

If you pop down to Fernieside you will see there is no way any amount of "disguise" work would have made the game playable.

Also to disguise the lines you would need a line marking machine, which since the Council do the lines, Fernieside does not have, another form of paint which Fernieside does not have, and anyone who visits Fernie reguarly will realise they dont have a large committee, but at the end of the day these guys are VOLUNTEERS who do their best and compared to the old days of Fernieside its 100 times better.

I may be wrong but I think efforts were made to switch the tie?

I think unless you have seen the mess of the park it is unfair to judge to be honest, dont think anyone from Tynie wanted to game off, why would they?!

What sort of trouble??? This is a forum site where people can come and express any opinion they have about the subject matter and if mr beastie feels that he was under the impression that Peebles could not field a team then he is in his right to express it, I have to say that a non pie and bovril friend of mine did hear this same story from a Peebles player.....ooooops hope I don't get into "serious trouble" haha

i appreciate what your saying about committees mate,if it wasn't for hard working vols behind the scenes then there would be no clubs and players should realise that.

Im pretty sure ww wouldve welcomed the game at rosewell so cant really comment whether they were contacted or not but rosewell is within a 15 minute drive of fernieside and im 100 % certain had your club asked ww for a line painting machine then a representative from the club wouldve happily passed it on.

Sorry but although the council were undoubtedly at fault there couldve been ways round this in what ruined a perfectly good Saturday for many especially with the weather being as mild for february.

The funny shite out-weighs the shit shite & the truth put together, so it's worth every log-on, we are football fans & that's all that matters (in here).

It's the footballing equivalent of "hello" magazine & I like it. (turn to page 3 for the full made up story & pics).

What was the groundsman thinking about as he was doing it? I find it incredible that he would walk a 100 yds painting a line without seeing the other one inches away. Very strange indeed.

I dont see how Tynecastle can be blamed for this. Clearly someone at the council parks department needs re-training.
