Mon the port agree with you I think you have called it right. Whitletts are too much kick and rush / defensive to go upalthough they have good players seem to play not to lose at any cost rather than win. I think shotts are the dark horses.

Well I would expect that. :D We absolutely murdered Girvan 0-0, how we never scored in that game defies belief. Also against Whitletts we were 2-0 up, then our goalie went off injured and we had no sub goalie on the bench. We lost 3-2 due to an influential outfield player being in goal. We played really well against Kilsyth, again missed some great chances, and lost 2-1. So far this season only Ardrossan have completely outplayed us in the league. But we need to start putting the ball in the net and taking the pressure off our defence, there are only 3 teams in the league who have conceded less goals than us, but on the same comparison there are only 2 teams in the league who have scored less goals than us.

Why would an influential outfield player be allowed to go in goal?

1 of the previous posts said shotts are dark horses? Shotts have spent more money on players and wages than anyone in the division. And i think it will be a major let down to the club and committee if they dont go up. As for twood think theyl be safe but honestly cant see them going up.when ekt played them we won 5 3 and it could have been 10 but there results have improved vastly since then and the big goalie wasnt playing that day either lol lets just hope we can get some fixtures on now :)

Because he had previous experience of filling in goal in similar circumstances at another club, and he volunteered.

Twoods main aim this year is to stay in the division!! We have shown that we can be more than capable of beating anyone on our day but also have the off day that I think everyone in the division has had so far!! Plenty of twist and turns yet I believe!!

A couple of points to be addressed here: the division must be in even worse condition than I thought if Shotts are top spenders. As an HMRC employee, I don't think it appropriate to discuss players' wages on a public forum but I think you should be told that Shotts have spent money on one player only this season. The money paid for him was less than I take home in my monthly pay packet and I am at the bottom of the pile. All other signings were as frees and/or amateurs. The manager has in fact raised almost twice the amount spent in sales; unfortunately for him, the club needed that money to contribute to its survival.

However, you may well be right regarding the possible disappointment of club and committee if we don't win promotion but that will have nothing to do with any money spent and much more to do with the expectations raised by watching a team put together on a shoestring by a manager who would appear to know what he's doing.

a scottish cup exit means our results are on the slide ? hmmmmmm cheers fur that need tae remember come back on here fur sum right good fucking laughs noo!!! ohhh dear!!!!!

Hadn't even noticed you'd exited the Emirates as those stats don't appear on my LEAGUEtracker.

Look at the facts, GL! Glenafton had five wins and three draws in their first eight league matches; in the last five you've had one win, two draws and two defeats. Results on the slide? I think so, but perhaps you can make a reasoned argument demonstrating the fallacy of mine.

None of this is to suggest that the slide will continue but I can only use the stats available to me. Look forward to your rational response.

Trust me i do. If it is only 1 player who is it .colin williamson was 1200 thats a fact. And as for all that nonsense about a shoestring budget i know off at least 4 guys that signed there and some doubled or trebled there money and of a few who knocked back big money.so i think you will find i do know what im talking about!

Your club let them go on a free because they couldn't pay them anything at all at some point last season. Your arithmetic is a bit out in that respect I'm afraid because if you double or treble nothing you still end up with nothing.

And if you know anyone who knocked back big money from Shotts, you are either listening to liars or... well, let's not go into managerial bargaining techniques.

Players were due 6 weeks wages which should have been paid however all players apart from cw were given a free transfer and if your a decent player you will get that back very quickly. Look forward to your visit to showpark!

To answer the original question, I think Shotts and Glenafton will get promoted with either Kilsyth or Renfrew in the play off place.

Dalry and Girvan to get relegated plus 2 from the rest. Gonna be a tight league right til the end of the season!
