Seeing that in the news with Romanov has withdrawn his investment in his other two clubs Partizan Minsk and FBK Kaunas and both clubs have been demoted from their leagues in Belarus and Lithuania.

Bad news, I think Hearts fans should prepare themselves for the worst. :(

.................or is this just another story that comes to light before Hearts play one of the OF?.

There is no substance to back up any further developments on this story, other than the motive of our biased mhedia to spout crap against non OF teams to claim these tactics work. With certain teams where you don't have a lot on them start rumours about their best player being a signing target for either OF team and let the rest of the media do your work for you. With Hearts the easiest way to undermine them is start rumours or dig up old ones over the club's finances.

This is an old story, as far as Hearts are concerned Romanov put the club up for sale around the time Partizan were kicked out. As far as FBK Kaunas is concerned they remain in the top league in Lithuania but were docked 6 points at the start of season. I don't see Hearts or their fans particulary bothered about this story seeing they should by now have become accustomed to all this nonsense.

Nice reasoning.

And Hearts more or less always sell out for derbies, we've been down this road before.

I think the capital club could manage a few 100 new punters through the gates with the right marketing.

Hearts do more or less always sell out derbies: recently. A few years ago Hearts away crowd at ER was an embarrassment. Hearts doing well, are of equal financial value to Hibs as say Celtic or Rangers. Those two genuinely do always sell out the South Stand.
If normality is ever restored and Hearts roll into (or is out of ) town without the oligarchs champ man squad, there'll be a few thousand jambos in behind them. If that was the case we'd only need say 200 extra p/game to subsidise the earth shattering disappearance of the third force.

This whole thread is a bit stupid and hypotethitical. Please don't compare the implication of Hearts going bust to Rangers. It's a bit like comparing the potential downfall of RBS compared to Ocean Finance,

You talk about a few years ago when our crowds were apparently bad?

The only game I can think of in recent years where we didn't sell out was the game after you won the wee cup - and we fucked that day up for you as well (did Hibs even sell out that day).

When I look at Hearts videos from the 80s and 90s etc the Dunbar end is always packed and we have like half of what is now your new west stand as well.

There was a few rows of empty seats next to the terracing I think. I was watching derby videos on YouTube the other day - that's the only derby we've not sold out in recent years. 8)

The Stamp 2-1 and 6-2 games were boycotts but thats going back 10 years~.

Can I safely assume your revision of Hearts 80's history is most highly concentrated at around 3/5th of the way through that century?

If so the point stands, when Hearts are doing well, the away crowd at ER derbies is impressive. When they're not it isn't.
The fact that Hearts are on a sustained period of domination over Hibs has obviously got you a little carried away, if you believe that Hearts 'always sell out derbies.'

That's a shame to hear.
I can only assume you're taking my thoughts on life without Hearts as being some sort of fantasy or prediction. Far from it.

I was only answering a point in a highly hypothetical thread, that Hearts going tits up would deeply affect Scottish football financially, especially Hibs. This is patently complete bollocks and the numbers I was flinging about were just to illuminate that. Hearts going bust would barely affect Scottish football financially at all, least of all Hibs. For clubs in areas with a lot of Hearts fans, like say Edinburgh and South Stirlingshire, it may even be a positive.

This thread is tragic.

Just shows how desperate and pathetic all the other diddy teams are that they are more interested in other teams finanaces.
