Ok so there is much debate. The centre halfs, centre midfield, wide men and even strikers. We claim to hate them but they still provide much talking points. Who would you start at the Euros? Cole and Hart are the only 2 nailed on starter IMO.

Over to the masses...

Rooney is suspended. Wiltshire must be a massive doubt.

Edit: the anti England brigade manage to give out red dots through tears of rage and false patriotism.

Shite forgot Wiltshire had another injury.

Swap Gerrard for Rooney for the first 2 games. If Jack boy doesnt make it i'd play Milner or Barry depending on the mood i was in.

Don't care so long as they don't pick any Villa players. They always play for England then get signed by a Manchester club, piss off England!

So you do care then?

It always amazes me the amount of people that go on about avidly supporting an English league club and love the EPL but despise the national team when it's fundamentally the same players.

This isn't a dig at you ^^^

I don't particularly despise the national team, I just care a lot more about Villa than international football. I don't love the EPL either, enjoyed football a lot more pre-1992 when clubs like Leeds/Villa/Everton and even the likes of Southampton and Watford could have a realistic run at winning the title. For the record, I am proud of the fact that Villa have had more England internationals than any other club, just disappointed that in recent years our international players seem to get their heads turned and want to move club when they get back from playing for England.

This but with Micah Richards instead of Smalling, and Parker or Gerrard instead of Wilshere

Why is Robinson a comedy shout for keeper? He's been excellent for Blackburn the last two seasons. Surely there's much worse than him to have a go at?

I like internatioanl football. Love watches two or three matches a day, every day. Used to like it better in the World Cup when there would be loads of players you'd never heard of becoming household names... Milla, Schillacci, etc. Not quite as much fun in the Euros especially since the Iron Curtain fell and virtually all the players play for Champions League teams who are on telly all the time.

Still reckon it will be good though. I have a feeling England will do surprisingly well, Think it will be like 1990 where the press constantly slag off a manager then, after making the semis, they are all gnashing their teeth begging the outgoing manager to stay, saying "we always loved you, honest!". For some reason I quite like Capello, possibly just because having a foreign manager annoys the Little Englanders.

Depends on form/injuries nearer the time I suppose. I'd probably end up going with:

Hart
Johnson Smalling Terry Cole
Wilshere Parker Gerrard
Chamberlain Rooney Young

Wasn't comfortable putting Young in there but there's no-one better. Chamberlain's obviously a gamble but he's better than Walcott and Adam Johnson. Once Chelsea punt Luiz to the bench then I'd maybe be tempted to go with Cahill and Terry.
23 years but not forgotten.

Hart

Richards
Terry
????
Cole

Wiltshire - if fit if not Parker will play.
Barry

A Johnson
Gerrard/Lampard - both past it but England will play one.
Milner

Rooney - Big Gap when suspended.

For me the contentious points are the other centre half and winger. Could Chaimberlain be thrown in? If not that means Young will start. I think he will start Smalling at centre half.

You're the only one. Cole will absolutely start at LB if fit.

That's as good any Scottish team. The defence is better actually.

Very good player, but not quite as good as Ashley Cole. I'm sure he could play LM though.

I'd be tempted to pick Baines ahead of Cole. I think Cole is a better player overall but Baines's free-kicks/corners are excellent. If he was just a Delap-type player with no obvious talent other than his set-piece speciality, I'd say pick Cole. But Baines is probably 9/10th as good as Cole so I'd say his set-pieces give him the edge.

Wonder if England will bother practising penalties this time?

Think the young man at Arsenal Oxlaide Chamberlain could gate-crash the squad, without all the crazy hype.

Not convinced over Daniel Strurridge but would take him over most other English strikers.

I'd also have Micha Richards at Right back, can't believe people are picking Walker, Johnson etc.. over him
