Welker came back from his knee injury catching 86 balls for 848 yards in 2010. In 2011 (one year after recovering from the injury) catching 122 for 1569.
Every player who has had that sort of injury has played better in the 2nd year back from the injury (Brady in 2010 - 36 TD's and 4 interceptions then being named MVP).
I won't expect AP to be back to his best either until '13 season.
