Have any SPL matches been played at a neutral venue for any reason?

I know that Inverness played their first 11 home games in the SPL at Pittodrie, and that Gretna played an entire season at Fir Park, aside from a game against Celtic which was played at Livingston.

Any others?

Celtic played at Hampden during the mid 90's while Parkhead was getting done up.

I think they should try hosting the 1st Edinburgh derby of the season at Murrayfield (and the possible 4th game as well)

Didn't Dundee play Rangers in an SPL game at Tannadice because of capacity restrictions when the new stands were going up at Dens?

Yep. Was a 1-1 draw.

A turd of such epic proportions it has to be released in three installments. The first can stand on its own as a complete adventure. The second links to the first, but has a dark, inconclusive feel generating an air of foreboding and leaving itself wide open for an unknown ending. The final chapter has drama, excitement and moments where you think all is lost. A grand battle is waged where good overcomes evil and peace is restored in your gut.

Thanks for that. 18th April 1999 was the date.

The extra travelling must have been a nightmare for both sets of fans.

Rangers also played 1 or 2 home games against Celtic at Hampden when Ibrox was being re-developed (late 70s I think)

oops...just noticed the OP asked about SPL only

St Mirren played Celtic at Ibrox when Love St was getting done up. Might have been pre-SPL though.

Unless it happened more than once, this game was in May 1979.
