I take it NONE of you have ever had a drink going to the football then?
There are certain 'establishments' in edinburgh where illegal things go on, yet a blind eye has been turned to that for decades.
So really what harm am i doing anyone having a couple cans of strongbow (lovely!!) going to the match?
None, so get a grip & stop acting like a 10 year old.
Ps - if as you say neds were lobbing bottles out of bused at folk along corstorphine rd, thats covered by a rake if cctv. Police would certainly have done something about that.
I do clearly recall being peltef with bottles by wee fannies

Cant remember much being done about that.
Pps - do you honestly think a bus company/driver would risk their licence by letting roasters throw glass bottles in the street?

What?
You're talking about completely different areas of Lothian and Borders police force.
Like most people on this thread, I imagine, I've had more than a few drinks on the way to away games. I haven't cried like a wee bitch when I've had it taken off of me, though, because that's life sometimes. If you do things that you aren't legal, the forces of law and order will sometimes take exception to that.
Drinking on the street, on the other hand, is perfectly legal in Edinburgh. Maybe you'd be happier if they stopped you from doing that too?

Theres enough police to weed out the pissed up wee neds, so why cant sensible people like me (i am, honest) not have a couple of drinks without being treated like a naughty schoolboy.
Although ive heard theres a few places near the hibs ground it costs £50 to be treated like a naughty schoolboy.....!!!!

They would simply prefer you to drink inside a local hostelry.
Makes the place look tidier & helps the local economy.

yet the scum on the buses did do that, closely missing a 11 year old girl going to the game with her dad.

as long as you are having the drinks legally, you can have a few drinks on the streets of Edinburgh but not so in Glasgow, why you could even go to a place called a pub for a few drinks pre match, you will find that murrayfield and roseburn pubs cater for the away fans at Tynecastle (something the vast majority of visiting fans do), the rules for not consuming alcohol on supporters buses must be around 20 years now.

But as ive said neither set of fans can take the moral highground in this fixture as ive seen arseholes launching glass bottles at the celtic fans from the railway bridge @ caley bowling club, narrowly missing folk with children.
Two wrongs dont make a right....

seeing as the bottles also just missed myself yes it did happen. also why celtic buses keep on ignoring the police not to drive along gorgie road, something that the police have now enforced more stringent since that game, you moaned about how bad the Lothian and Borders police are, i wish they took a few pages out of the Strathclyde police manual on handling visiting supporters.

I dong think the embra polis are any better or worse than the glesga ones.
Cant comment on celtic buses going down gorgie rd as our bus comes in from M9 stirling we just go along corstorphine and either park on the main road or turn down towards royal mail depot & park there, either way though its wherever the cops direct us. last couple of times we've almost been up at haymarket station & thats where the buses get searched, stopping just short of shining a torch up the drivers colon.....!

i am having a discussion ( you know where 2 people or more talk about issues, hopefully in a civil manor with each other) with one of your fellow supporters, and it is about a few issues surrounding the behaviour of fans and a having a drink pre match. or is that not allowed

going along Corstorphine road is the route the police have always wanted visiting supporters to take. With works being done down Russell Road (think that is the old parking place for away buses) they have had to move where the visiting supporters buses are parked, think with midweek games means closer to Haymarket as parking controls are not as easy done for midweek games than games at the weekends.
think you will find most visiting supporters will say that Strathclyde police are a lot worse to away fans (both Parkhead and Ibrox) than other police forces are
