I'd reccomend O'Connels for a bar lunch as I've heard the Novar food isn't quite so good now the McKay fella's away.
Also O'C's has more tables for grub and more tvs for the football, no?

I see there will be a minutes silence before the game tomorrow.
*puts vuvuzela back under the bed*
I'm looking forward to this one. Might head through early doors for a bite to eat and watch the televised football. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

89 mins and we've scored, something's not right. County to score in 93.
Edit: Apparently not.
We went behind and then went onto to not lose. This is a great day.

That will do me nicely obviously a bit gutting to lose a goal so late, but Falkirk and Dundee fail to make up any ground again
C'MON COUNTY GET INTO THIS SHITE!!

Deserved that in the end. County did feck all after scoring.
Long ball (often colloquially referred to as 'hoofball') is the term used in association football to describe an attempt, often speculative, to distribute the ball a long distance down the field via a cross, without the intention to pass it to the feet of the receiving player.
It is a technique that can be especially effective for a team with either fast or tall strikers. The long ball technique is also a through pass from distance in an effort to get the ball by the defensive line and create a foot race between striker and defender.[1] While often derided as either boring or primitive,[2] it can prove effective where players or weather conditions suit this style; in particular, it is an effective counter-attacking style of play in which some defenders can be caught off-guard. - Wikipedia

I've been reliably ensured that they have metaphorically kissed and made up, so hopefully Gardyne should return for this. I think Adams is talking up Coco and Craig etc mainly to keep them feeling valued and motivated. I also reckon that in his head Adams will feel that was a slightly weakened side he put out against St. Mirren. I think we'll return to a more normal set-up with Lawson and Gardyne against Raith.

Good effort by the guys today and an unlikely point in the end. You can see how County are way ahead as they played some decent stuff very competently, but we penned them back in the last 10 minutes or so and I thought the goal was well merited . I also think maybe we've finally found where to play Joe Hamill as he was excellent today.
Callum Murray on the other hand is a one-eyed twat. Whenever these so-called SPL list refs lower themselves to officiate in our games they make a complete arse of it, and Murray was no exception.

A deserved point, no doubt about that. Credit to the players for showing some fighting spirit for about the third time this season - that's much more like it.
Casa was much improved today, a combination of match sharpness arriving and getting some fire in his belly with the way he was being treated by the referee (who was abysmal). Munro is a great defender for this level and I'd take him in a heartbeat but he shouldn't have got away with half the stuff he did today.
I was a bit disappointed by County in all honesty. Clearly not one of their better performances but they reminded me of us last season. Scrappy, petty, trying to kick and scratch their way to victory with a wee bit of football thrown in every now and then. I don't necessarily mean that as an insult and I recognise that's not how reports say they generally play, but I did expect a bit more. It was nice to get the late equaliser as a result.
Glad to see Jamie Walker get the goal too, IMO he's the pick of the Hearts bunch and I thought he should've been on earlier than he was. All in all, a good point and there are signs of life in there.

Very even until half time, then County maintained their level of performance while the Rovers dropped off and that led to the goal, then it went back to being pretty even again, and the Rovers had the better of the closing stages. A draw was certainly the right result in a game of few chances.
Calum Murray and his refereeing team were really poor. Nothing major, just consistently making small mistakes and odd decisions. Davidson's booking was entirely his own fault, but the foul should never have been given against him. The defender took a step backwards and tripped over his own feet. (That booking, by the way, was the only black mark on an excellent defensive performance from Davo) There was also the bizarre freekick given against (I believe) Baird, when the ball either struck his torso, or his arm across his chest. I've got no idea which, and he was facing me. How Murray called it as a foul from directly behind the player I've got no idea. I don't think he influenced the final result of the game, but it was well below the standard I'd expect of a "Category One" referee.
While I'm scattering thoughts about the game across the page, I'd like to note my respect for Scott Boyd. I'm sure he's scored a couple of goals against the Rovers and always looks a competent defender (although I'm sure I went to a County game as a neutral once and was raving about him to my mates, only for him to score an own goal). He took a knock today and picked up a blood injury, when County were still one up. When he went down the booing started almost in anticipation of five minutes waiting for the physio to waddle on, spend an age patching him up and then the game finally getting underway again, but Boyd picked himself up as quickly as possible, jogged to the side of the pitch where the physio was waiting, and the game could've got started again immediately if the referee hadn't been fannying about. He also waited fairly patiently to be checked before being waved back on, which is awfully rare.

Well, I have to say that while off the pitch we're gradually sinking, on the pitch I honestly believe we're turning the corner. We've managed to draw against Falkirk and County at home, with a draw at Morton.
First half didn't contain too many chances but I felt we were arguably the better team. I think bunglebonce said before the game that the midfield battle would be important, and we were passing the ball about well at times. I think that was probably enough to get McGlynn to give a team talk which probably involved "keep on going this way and we can get a result". Casa looked dangerous while running at County who were a bit unsure as how to handle them. Clarke was holding the ball up well, while Baird wasn't having the greatest game (but still with his usual work ethic) in terms of passing. Overall, a very solid first half performance.
Adams must have given County a bollocking at half time as they looked far more like a team near the top of the league, aided by our successive mistakes. It looked like we'd struggle, then Donaldson slipped chasing a ball, and with a simple cutback County were head after one of their first few attacks. Poor defending but also a bit unlucky. County then continued as Rovers threatened to slip back into their deep lying ways which have caused us problems.
We got a few set pieces which helped give Rovers a bit more confidence as we got back into the game. Casa had a shout for a penalty turned down which was probably the right decision as Rovers continued their hard work. We then brought off Clarke and Casa for Graham and Jamie Walker. I thought the game went a bit flat for a little while after, with County holding us up our end of the pitch. Jamie Walker started to make a few runs down the wing. Eventually we made the breakthrough, Jamie Walker found space down the wing and made a good run, a nice wee interchange saw the ball find its way to Graham, who then cut it back to Walker who slotted home. A late goal was something we saw a lot last year, but I was delighted to see it again. I'm delighted to say it was completely deserved.
For County, I thought Munro as ever managed to batter about our attackers without giving away a free kick, and that isn't a dig, he really is one of the best defenders at this level. Number 6 for County also looked excellent, he sat a little deeper in midfield but was good at tracking down players.
As for Rovers, overall I reckon we did well and can take a lot of positives from the game. Davidson deserved his man of the match award and did almost everything right (don't punt the ball into the advertising boards for a silly yellow though). We look so much more assured when he is playing. Definitely our most underrated player. Mentions also for Clarke, Casalinouvo and Jamie Walker who got his first professional goal today. Hopefully we can turn around the corner and start to pick up more points. Bring on Livi! Hopefully we can get a result there. Lets put McNeil under some pressure for once!

That's all fine and well, but how many times did he shout "and away, and away" during the match? During the highlights, it's all you can hear almost every time we play County.

Aye, he scored this season against us in the first game at Starks. I'll always remember his miss the first season we returned to the first division on the last day, when he headed a net-bound ball off the bar in front of an open goal.

No 6 for us was Paul Lawson and he was superb the whole game.
Gutted to lose a late goal but Raith kept going and we should've won the game earlier when McMenamin should've squared it.

Lawson was indeed very good. I also thought Corcoran did well, one of the few players on the pitch willing to take people on and played his part in the goal. We had a couple of chances to make the game safe, notably McMenamin failing to square it for Craig in what could/should have been an action replay of what had gone before it. Possibly the pass we were all screaming for wasn't on, but it looked mightily greedy.
We controlled the game for the first ten minutes of the second half but there was otherwise very little in it and few chances. Frustrating to have conceded a late equaliser thanks to Vigurs dallying on the ball in midfield, but our challengers continue to stutter and splutter so we've got away with a fairly average performance today.

You can't really argue with a point a piece. Have to applaud the players for plugging away and get a great equaliser.A fairly congested midfield really limited the amount chances that were created. Thought davo was a fair shout for MOM. However between the two teams Corcoran and vigurs stood out.

That game was pretty shite. There is one Rovers fan who needs to see a therapist ASAP. He went MENTAL at every single decision that went against his team. Laughable behaviour.
I was pretty surprised that Rovers equalised as they really hadn't looked like scoring. County did not impress either though, so a fair draw really.

That's the first time the Rovers have scored after going behind since the 27th of August, unless I'm very much mistaken. That's another wee corner turned.
