While Raith won't win the league this season, I think they'll be safe from the drop.
I also wouldn't be surprised if they were to take points off both Dundee and Falkirk in the run in. I think I'm right in saying that Raith have to play Falkirk and Dundee only once more each ??

Yoda and TJE both mentioned Fraser - yesterday was the first time I've felt a bit nervy any time a ball was punted anywhere near him. Three errors - a first half cross he was nowhere near and a couple of spills in the second - that we were very fortunate to get away with thanks to a terrible open goal miss, a decent recovering block and a goal line clearance. A fine save at the end to make sure we left with that point however.

Corcoran hasn't had a better game for us that I've seen, he'd be very hard done by to find himself out of the team again on that form.

As for the fan debates, let those that feel the need get it off their self important chests and the rest of us can discuss the football like adults. Tedious is a polite word for it at this stage.

Cant add much to what has been said alreadu but like most have pointed out a draw was fair but both teams had chances to score a few more. Glad to be comeback from behind aswell because this season it has been a rarity for us.

Davo was quite an easy decision for MotM it was just that stupid booking that took away from one of his best performances all season and he absolutly strolled that game yesterday. He along with Williamson, Hammil and improved Casa were our best players today, although I didnt think Dyer or Baird were great.

As for county Corcoran played well and there back for were pretty solid all game although I honestly don't know how they are top of the league. I don't mean that in a bad way as clearly the football you are playing is effective however other than the second half of the game at Victoria park I have never been impressed. Strangly enough Falkirk (who we have taken four points from) have looked the best side this season, in saying that I would like to see County go up for travelling reasons should we stay here.

Onwards and hopefully upwards to my first visit to Livi next week where hopefully its met with a win.

Well that's new! He does always like to switch us around from the coin toss though, as do quite a few of the managers in the league in fact. It's fucking annoying. It shouldn't be much of an issue but it is. I spent the first half yesterday waiting for the second half, so we could get a bit of noise and encouragement going on.

Probably but Baird seemed to spend as much time in the full back position as he did up front. I'm pretty sure the new formation has been set up to allow Baird to drop back as much as he wants but still leave us with two up top.

Thought Raith played some nice stuff yesterday, was quite impressed with them and the way they knocked the ball about at times.

We seemed disjointed. Had spells where we knocked it about well, but played a lot of sloppy passes losing us possession. I know Vigurs mistake contributed to the goal, but I thought he was having an off-day before that. Brittain's corners were also generally terrible, which was hugely frustrating, albeit he had a sound game otherwise. There were also a few incidents at the back where players were running for the same ball and getting in each other's way, with Fraser also having an off-day. He did pull off some good saves, but looked erratic at times.... Basically, it wasn't a very good performance from us, but we did enough to get a draw from a tidy Raith outfit (albeit I dont like Casalinuovo, he seems a bit "continental" with his ability to stay on his feet. Really liked Baird though). I did think we had done enough to win; Munro, Lawson and Corcoran were outstanding for me, and we should have made the most of one of our other chances. But I would say Raith were certainly worth a goal, so were worth the draw.

Always enjoy trips to Raith, even with the horrific hangover I was suffering from. Standing in the pie-hut queue for an age waiting for some poor wee wifie to deal with the huge (HUGE!!!) travelling support didn't help. Glad I ditched the queue to go back to my seat for the goal! My mate didnt and missed it. He also didn't get the mars bar he wanted as the pie-lady had sold out of all chocolate as they hadn't anticipated such a huge (HUGE!!!) travelling support. Her words. Except she maybe said 'big' instead of 'huge' (HUGE!!!). I rocked back down after the goal,once the queue had dispersed, to get some coffee for my hangover. I'm crafty.

Would agree that the ref was a bit all over the place. He was whistling for just about any contact, with no-one able to confidently tell which team he was going to give the foul to. Would also agree that Scott Boyd is quality. Absolutely love that man

Totally agree about crowd debates being tedious. I haven't travelled up to Dingwall for about 6 years so can hardly criticise for County fans not making the return trip. Every fan would rather win the league than the non-existent 'who has the biggest travelling support' trophy.

Interesting comment from Adams about the Raith support and the ends. I hate when we shoot towards the South stand in the first half. Always feels a bit flat the second half.

Hope County go on and win the league.

I should add, to those who haven't made the journey up to Dingwall before I'd really recommend it. I went up at the last game up there, and while it was a bit nippy it is a really nice journey up, with some decent pubs and a cracking stadium. The haggis pies are probably the best thing to come through catering in the division.

I do miss the County games as it is a cracking ground to watch football. We even stayed over a couple of times and made a weekend of it in Inverness. I'm afraid the 6 hour round trip can't be justified given these days now I've got a family. I take my hat off to County fans who do that every second week

I'm glad someone from outside a Raith POV has noticed this. Everyone thinks I'm daft when I tell them we pretty much always lose when we shoot down to the South Stand in the first half.

Fair do's from Adams. Hes right, you do get a fair din from the South Stand if Rovers are shooting towards it.

I've never noticed the other two before. I'll be keeping an eye out whenever they happen from now on.

FanTalk says we always lose under when we have a big crowd, and my dad used to say that we usually lost when it rained. In other words, we're obviously just useless. :lol:

It happens at Dingwall as well, mostly against teams that have some ex-County connection in the coaching team.

Traditionally, County are quite flat in the first half, but are resurgent in the second shooting towards the jail end.

Lower level football does tend to follow a similar pattern (without being exclusive to lower level football).

I've completely lost track of this thread over the weekend, wasn't at the game but my parents were so got a good summary from them. Seems Corcoran is coming into some good form at the moment. Craig sounded less than impressive in the first half, and all in all a draw sounds like a relatively fair result. I'll need to have a swatch at the highlights yet though.

I was surprised Gardyne was still out of the squad but as I said before, I was assured that the situation had been resolved. In fact, it was apparently resolved before the St. Mirren game, but he was left out to "make an example of him". So perhaps this was still part of his punishment. With our congested schedule for the next few weeks, I expect we'll see him back soon.

Aye, he was wide right in the first half, where he is wasted. But second half he was pulled in alongside McMenamin, with Brittain wide right.
They were still grumping at him second half, with some of it harsh I thought, was pretty funny when he scored! Think we all agreed he had a good second half by the time he went off though.

Hope/assume you're right about Midge. He's probably just lost his space till he's needed. Like at 5s where you miss a week, so some random gets your spot until someone else drops out for a week and you get theirs. I hate that.

I agree there is no point in playing Steve Craig on the right side of midfield, or on the right side. If he is to play I would only use him as part of a front two. He can score goals. He doesn't get involved in the game enough while right sided, and the game can pass him by.
You will retire me, but Iniesta will retire us both.
