There's shouting and there's constant berating of certain players regardless of how they are playing. There's a big difference.

If they said players dont perform on a football field then they should be berated.

Oh definitely, I think there was an argument a few years ago over who had the most negative fans and it was us and Falkirk up for contention - possibly just because of the dynamics of the site then and now,

St. Mirren fans disgust me, and it's always the vocal minority. I sit quite near the front and to hear the complete shit from behind me embarrasses me no end. Why don't these people f**k off to an island somewhere or, preferably, all support the same team?

The way they single out players for abuse no matter what also sickens me. Steven Thompson and Gary Teale have come in for it worst this season - two players who could have earned quite a bit more elsewhere. If I was either of them I would deeply regret joining St. Mirren because of the action of a minority of fans.

The notion that they pay their money and should be allowed to abuse people is absurd, in what other walk of life is vile abuse acceptable because you've paid £15 to get in? Tell these people to GTF, football and society would be better without them.

Eh, has uni even posted in this thread yet? Has he already assumed VikingTon esque status by being mentioned in threads he has nothing to do with?

I haven't noticed it to bad where I sit with Thompson, there's always one or two but nothing OTT towards the big man. I'm no fan of Teale, I think he's dire, but I don't go to games to berate players, I don't see what good it does.

As for others, there was a home game earlier this season, I forget which game it was, but one punter unleashed an volley of abuse towards Samson, this was early in the season when he was performing very well. The guy was having a go at him and moaning from the first whistle then there was an instance where the ball went back to the keeper and Samson passed it to DVZ, the punter was unhappy that he didn't go long with it. He was screaming how utterly shite and useless Samson is only to be met by half a dozen punters telling him to shut the f**k up.

Don't think we are that bad for it (probably becasue we have nothng to be negative about at the moment). Even when we were utter pish the last few seasons I didn't think that there was many fans that stood out for their extreme negativity. This is from my perspective in the South Stand so the old codgers in the Main Stand may think differently.

After my experience today I was left wondering why some people go to games if all they do is shout bile and negativity from the word go. It can be pretty bad at away games but today was the first home game in a long time where people have been told to shut the f**k up from randoms.

Is it as bad at other clubs?

Possibly worse.

My favourite fucktard was some angry old c**t who spent 5 minutes absolutely berating Francisco Luna for missing a sitter. When the stupid fucker finally paused for breath, one of his pals pointed out that it was in fact Eddie Annand, who'd come on a few minutes earlier, to which the riposte was "Well he's fuckin' pish as weel"

I've also seen Dundee booed off after a 4-0 home win over Ayr United.

A turd of such epic proportions it has to be released in three installments. The first can stand on its own as a complete adventure. The second links to the first, but has a dark, inconclusive feel generating an air of foreboding and leaving itself wide open for an unknown ending. The final chapter has drama, excitement and moments where you think all is lost. A grand battle is waged where good overcomes evil and peace is restored in your gut.

jupe's post reminds me of a game last season against stenhousemuir where me and hawk were out on the north terrace

guy next to us has made a few comments about former ayr player willie lyle in the first half nothing too bad at the time
then the 2nd half came and everytime the stenhousemuir #2 was on the ball or taking a throw in etc this sole man was throwing a torrent of abuse at him
however this was not willie lyle for some reason this day he was playing left back, nobody thought to tell the guy and everyone around is having a wee laugh about it , he finally realised with about 5 minuites left and loud and proudly proclaimed "ye might no be willie lyle but your still a p***k #2" Posted ImagePosted Image

This season at the games I've been at the Falkirk Support have been really good! I think alot of that has to do with the fact that our team is basically a youth team and they are giving there all for the club and exceeding all expectations

But in previous seasons There have been times I'd have rather have been in the away and as there would have been better support for our team! Higdon got alot of stick when at Falkirk from some sections and then had God like status with others!

I think you'll find most of the "negative arseholes" at games fall into one, or more ,or all of these categories

a) Hen-pecked wee fannies who's wives wear the trousers at home and this is the only chance they get to vent their frustration

b) The gimps from school who were totally pish at football and always the last to get picked

c) As someone else has already stated, in serious need of their Nat King Cole

d) Sufferers of wee man syndrome

e)Big fat b*****ds who couldn't run the length of themselves, but somehow are experts on the physical attributes required to be a professional footballer

It happens a lot in the north stand at theTCS.Some players get it tight before they kick the ball,Procter is a classic example but to be fair you are just waiting for him to do something stupid like give away a penalty,Tokely on the other hand gets hardly any abuse and he is more of liability than most, just because he is seen as a club legend doesn't mean he's not a total donkey.

So being negative away from the game is better ?

Tokely is a c**t tho.

If you turned up to my work to shout and swear at me, you'd probably get a few funny looks, and be asked to leave, probably by the Police.

Your forgot:

f) Self-important wankers who think that handing over £20 automatically entitles them to dish out constant personal abuse to a player on the team they are supposed to be supporting for ninety minutes.

I think Aberdeen are bad for it, but I get the impression it goes on at a lot of games in a lot of team's supports.

I think it was a Stirling Albion game a couple of years ago, there was someone sitting behind us moaning about everything that happened, calling the players useless etc from kick off. Stirling made a substitution in the second half which caused the man behind us to moan about it being a poor choice and how this new player never does anything and is a waste of time. About a minute later he scored with pretty much his first touch of the game and was clearly the best player on the pitch.

But Aberdeen are terrible. I remember the person who sat next to me a few seasons ago having a go at Mackie any time he played or was substituted on, he scored in one game, then the same person complained any time that Mackie wasn't playing for the rest of the season.

I think people like excuses to moan. I have to say I can be guilty of it myself at times, but hearing people finding cause to moan when the team are cruising with a three goal lead makes me think they just enjoy being negative.

Yeah, you say it but freaks who shout abuse at their own players during their games are a considerable minority. I would far rather they never ever come back even if we do lose a few hundred "supporters" it would still be worth it. These people are a disgrace to our club.

And if you did that you could be thrown out, again possibly by the police. Shouting abuse at people seems only acceptable within football stadiums and I hope that it is a trend that dies out soon as it is something we could definitely do without.

Scottish people in general seems to be overtly negative moaning c***s but it's most obvious in football where our fantastic and unparalleled league is, amazingly, accused of being below par.

Don't come to games, express your views in front of a mirror at your house.
Keep your views internal.
Go to a part of the stadium by yourself where nobody else can hear you.

You could do any of these things but choose instead to shout personal abuse at your own players during games either because you love the attention or are just a very angry man. Don't ever come back.

I usually drift into a depressed coma at Saints games. I'm quite a positive person outside of the football but fear grips me and I usually just sit cringing.

I remember being at a game years ago where an older guy behind me berated Billy McKinlay from kick-off until McKinlay was eventually substituted with around ten minutes to go, at which point the guy stood up and applauded him shouting, 'well played Badger'. It must be pointed out that this was a reserve game and McKinlay was our best player at the time.

The worst culprit is the guy who bring his burd to the match and then proceeds to act like a complete bell-end for the entire game, ostentatiously screaming abuse at his own players and flailing his arms about like an epileptic on ecstasy. Needless to say, the burd looks on completely nonplussed, whilst probably interpreting the whole alpha male charade as a pathetic attempt to compensate for his miniscule penis.

Eh, the right? It's not as if I am demanding they stay away or anything I am saying that they should never come back - and I fully believe that. These people are not good for my, or any club or even football in general.

I'd be delighted if they never ever set foot in our ground again, their self importance that they'd be no one left without them is complete nonsense. Most fans on this thread have expressed embarrassment about the actions of this minority but how many are willing to come out and say they are part of the abuse your own players club? Just one it seems.

It's not a "right" at all, I have no idea why you think it is.

Going through administration seems to have eradicated most of the negative shite, pre-administration we were as bad as anyone else.

I visited Dens a couple of weeks ago and even though you're third in the league the atmosphere was excellent and I never heard a negative peep out of anyone.
