I was thinking of going to New York in August. I would already be in the US so all it will cost is about £60 for an internal flight plus I'll need an extra £50 for an extended visa.

I will be by myself but how long should I stay for? A week is probably the maximum but given accommodation costs (at the cheapest dorm hostels) I was thinking I might do it for a bit shorter. Anyone been? Good cheap accommodation?

Etc.

Yes. Unless Sky go bankrupt, there is no way Italian football will ever challenge the Premiership again.

AC Milan 4 - 0 Arsenal : 16th February 2012.
Napoli 3 - 1 Chelsea : 21st February 2012

Supras, there's no need to feel down
I said Supras, pick yourself off the ground
I said Supras, 'cause your in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy

Supras, there's a place you can go
I said Supras, when you're short on your dough
You can stay there and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

I'm going to New York in 12 days (Posted Image) and have been using the New York tripadvisor forum to plan my holiday! The FAQ sidebar is pretty helpful and so are the forumers.

I think there was a New York thread on here a couple of weeks back?

Not sure about cheap accommodation as I've always stayed pretty central in Manhattan, but I'd imagine you would be able to get somewhere cheap as the place is massive.

As for how long to stay, I'd say a minimum of three days to do the basic tourist stuff (bus tour, Statue of Liberty etc etc, but honestly, stay for as long as you can as you'll fall in love with the place and regret not staying longer if you had the time/money available.
