How can Kilwinning, Irvine, Ardeer, Saltcoats and Ardrossan all be playable yet Kilbirnie is called off at 8.15 in the morning?

Feel sorry for Lossiemouth now! Given North Ayrshire council have also called ON the adjacent public football parks, it's a very frustrating Saturday morning all round!

It's no worse than it was last year is it ? We did not get our 4th round tie last year played till the end of Feb , don't think you can blame kilbirnie when most games are off .

RRG no one is blaming Kilbirnie

It is just very annoying for two clubs who have a lot of big games ahead

Seems like you think Kilbirnie wanted this game off again?

I feel your pain as it took us over a month to get our Scottish game played earlier in the year but surely this is a massive inconvenience for Kilbirnie as well.

If that's the case then it's interesting that we were notified that the game was off before 9 o'clock. Bit of a wasted journey for the ref!

I don't think Kilbirnie wanted it off Eddie. Troon FC may think different but I believe the frustration is that a decision was made so early and maybe we could have given the pitch a chance.

But even so it may not have made a difference as I don't know how bad the pitch is?

The acting secertary(mr robertson is on holiday) accepted the FACT that the park was unplayable as were most of the games around the country
The referee came down at 10.45 and confirmed that
He also said that the matchreferee might call the kilwinning game off as it was capable of taking a stud but might be dodgy in areas
Do you think that we as a club can afford to call games off?

If a ref inspected the park at 10:45 and deemed it unplayable then fair enough and there can be no arguments over the merits of the decision.

Hopefully we'll get this played soon.

Word coming back is that the pitch would have passed with a wee bit work before kick off.

Ha ha good 1
Was on the pitch and its like an ice rink
With the heavy rain that is forecast it would have been treachorous
We have 1 of the best groundsmen around who comes to the club and would take his word over anyones any day of the week

I think the pitch should have been given a chance, not called off at 8.15 in the morning without an inspection. If it didn't pass the inspection then so be it.

Very frustrating for all involved, just feel that given its the last 32 of the Scottish Cup it should have been given every chance.

FOr the record, one of our club reps has been there, it definitely isn't like an "ice rink".

Is that the time it was called off at

Jeez it was still dark in most places i think you are right they could have held the inspection back like the matches taken place at Abbey and Meadow Park.

Yes it is very frustrating
And if the game was on tomorrow it would definately be on
Your point about it being the last 32 i can understand but can i counter with
That is why it shouldnt be on now as the park is dangerous at this time and players could get seriously injured
Both sets of players and fans had been informed already. Maybe the players could have got there but there wouldnt have been a crowd
There was no match referee as when our game was called off he was switched to another game
The word from troon was that they wanted to give it to 1.15pm and make a decision then?
Surely not ??
Also Martyn Cairns who plays for troon was on the park and will confirm that it wasnt playable and wouldnt be no matter how long we left it

Did you see martyn inspect the park fully? No
He walked on to the park with the ref to the centre circle
stood for 10 seconds then came back
I dont want to get into an arguement here as it would only sully relations between the clubs
But with the rain falling and the ground frozen i can assure you that the park was as how i described it
