It's good you know how to copy and paste from an article that is NOT 100% factual.

I will concede that the meeting did take place within the grounds of St Roch's primary school.

I was born and brought up in the Garngad and as an ex player of the candy, ex pupil of St Roch's primary and secondary schools i also learned how to copy and paste..........however, on this occasion i don't need to do that........... In 1920 Canon Edward Lawton founded Saint Roch's Juniors Football Club along with St Roch's Boys Guild. The Juniors originally played at Milburn Park, Garngad, before moving to the current ground at Provanmill Park, which initially was not a grass or blaize park but ash.

Hmmm.......c*ck, p*sh....................oooops, looks like you have dribbled my dear friend.

Football was the main sport of the area and then as now was discussed with some fervour. St Roch's Junior Football Club was established in 1920 following a meeting called by Father Lanton in St Roch's Primary School. St Roch's won the Scottish cup in their 2nd season and have produced many players who have graced the senior game. Happily, despite ups and downs, St Roch's are still alive and kicking. Most famous was the legendary Jimmy McGrory who played for Celtic and Scotland. He learned his football on a piece of ground called the Brickfield. This field was surrounded by the back courts of Millburn St, Rosemount St and Gargadhill. When I was young this was our field of dreams too and we all imagined ourselves to be another McGrory. He never forgot the Garngad and the Garngad never forgot him. His conduct was always exemplary off the field as well as on. It is possibly unique that three Scottish International centre forwards came from Garngadhill. As well as McGrory, Jim Forrest played for Rangers and Scotland, and 'Lisbon Lion' scoring hero Stevie Chalmers, Celtic and Scotland, came from James Nisbet St. Other Garngad men who starred in senior football include:

John Carragher (Bury), Hugh Miller (Grimsby T), John Rollo (Rangers), Con Hilley (Crystal Palace), Hughie Hilley (Celtic), John Connor (Celtic), Davie Marshall (Rangers), Joe Baillie (Celtic), Owen Cosker (Falkirk), John Wallace (Rochdale), John Hales, Chic McInally and John Docherty (Brentford), Willie Dolan (Morton), Richard Lowrie (Brentford), Hugh McLauglan (Brentford), Jim Mannan (Airdrie), Syd Cousins (Brighton), Charlie Cullen (Celtic), Tommy McGonnigle (Falkirk), Dominic Sulllivan (Clyde, Celtic), Hughie McGrory (Blackburn Rovers), Malcolm McDonald (Celtic), Wm, Donnelly (Celtic), Peter Flynn (Leeds), Tommy Flynn (St. Mirren), Alec Willoughby (Rangers), Willie MeEwan (Gillingham), henry Gordon (Bury), John Docherty (Hearts), John McKenna (Clyde), Pat McKenna (Aberdeen), Joe McAleer (Wrexham), Mick Skivington (Bury), Hugh Darwood (Clyde), Sam Henderson (Celtic). John McQueen (Stirling Albion), John Mullen (Stirling Albion), Peter Buchanan (Chelsea and Scotland), Stephen Lynch (Celtic), Jimmy Connor (Third Lanark), Willie Jack (Kilmarnock), John McFadden (Dunfermline), George Gallagher (Kilmarnock), James McGonnigle (Bolton Wanderers), J, Boyle (Preston N end).

From the royston road project

you only pish with the cock you have got!

This is the cutting that will go into the Talbot programme for the visit of the Candy. A lot of clubs history is unclear just like Talbot;s. We know that the club was formed at a meeting on Kirkland Green, but apart from one commitee man we know little else. The article that I have cut and pasted is the best I can find on St Roch's, but its interesting but not accurate, just like it lists Stevie Chalmers as an ex-Candy when its reported that he was actually an Ashfield player. In the Talbot programme there is another article on Frank Brogan an ex-Candy player, very interesting. If you can prove that your findings are far more accurate than the Royston road project I would be willing to change their history to suit yours, Thank you,

The ''red row'' project as you call it(prior to editing it) is not accurate by any matter of means........neither is the Royston Road project from where i believe you got you information. 1 example, it mentions Dom Sullivan(Clyde, Celtic) but fails to mention Aberdeen, the club he was signed from by Celtic.

I did also state in an earlier post that Stevie Chalmers could not get a game for the school team let alone the Juniors and It is no concern to me what the content of the programme is, but like most junior clubs, the old school diehards like a wee trip down memory lane.

I only write the facts my friend

And I won't dispute those facts. As I have said information on the Candy's history is patchy but a have a week or so and will take into consideration the points you have raised.

Not a patch on the sock puppets, your starting to churn out poor fare!

In a week where Talbot posts strangely went from being the most frequent on the board to virtually non-existent overnight, it was hardly required - IgglePigge/Son Of Dumbo vanishes, so does a large block of Talbot posters. Uncanny.

By the way the thread was meant to offend. why was St Roch's not brought up straight after the reached the 5th round. I rest my case! By the way when you have Waffennss on your side thats when you know your a knob!

When you make posts with grammar that would make a primary school child blush, then you're a knob (FFS learn the difference between your and you're like the rest of us).

Let's put this into context. Over the past week, as well as the thread about St. Roch's, RobRoyGuy made a thread about Chris Strain Jnr of Irvine Meadow being on the radio.

Reason: "Should make for an interesting listen !!"

Was this because Irvine Meadow are somehow Auchinleck Talbot's bitter rivals (or rather nearest fellow perennial trophy contenders) and would wind Talbot fans up?

Also, as was pointed out earlier, RRG earlier in the week did a bit bringing up Johnstone Burgh.

Reason: "Johnstone Burgh don't get talked about much on here so i thought i would start this thread after reading something about them and chatting to there guy on twitter who is so passionate about his club."

So was this part of some sinister RRG anti-Talbot agenda too? Does he have insider information that Auchinleck Talbot will be drawed against the Bot in some cup competition later in the year and so decided to create this thread in order to resurrect it at the appropriate time later at the press of a button whilst stroking a while Persian cat and cackling loudly?

Or could it be that as this is a forum about Junior Football he thought people might - just might - find it interesting?

The only "case" you have to rest here is that of going from being one of the more normal Talbot supporters into turning into a total basket case. This constant stream of invective from you and other Talbot "fans" against one particular member of the Juniors forum on the flimsiest of pretexts has ceased to be even remotely cringeworthy.

No one in here should have to act like they're treading on egg shells because every single post they make is going to be deliberately misinterpreted as somehow a sotto voce dig at a completely different club. Grow up or get out.

After a meeting in The League of the Cross Halls in Saint Roch’s Primary School in 1920 Canon Edward Lawton founded Saint Roch’s Juniors Football Club. In their Green Jerseys and White Shorts they won the Scottish Junior Cup. They originally played at Milburn Park, Garngad, before moving to their current stadium, Provanmill Park, in 26th 1935, which at that time was still within the boundaries of St Roch’s Parish.

James Edward McGrorry, whose parents were from Donegal, was born in 179 Milburn Street, Garngad, 26th April 1904. He was baptised by Fr Sherwood, C.P., in St Mungo’s, 2nd May 1904, and received his First Holy Communion and Confirmation at St Roch’s. Canon Lawton bought him his first pair of Football Boots and was highly influential in his signing for Celtic in St Roch’s Chapel House on 10th June, 1922.

He played for Celtic from 1923-1938, becoming top scorer for Celtic with 550 goals. He won 2 League Championships and 4 Scottish Cups. He was Manager from 1945-1965, winning the League Cup, Saint Mungo Cup, Coronation Cup and League Championship before becoming Public Relations Officer from 1965 until his death in 1982.

Stevie Chalmers, from James Nisbet Street, won 2 Scottish Cups, 4 League Cup and Championships and 1 European Cup Medal when he scored the most famous of his 241 goals in Lisbon, 1967. He opened ‘The Garngad Street Party’ to celebrate the League Championship in 2000.

You've got to wonder what goes on in the village if Kirkland / Blackie etc., really does compile their programmes and is the " official historian " !
There must be some real collectors' items in that pile of shite literature !

The candy will always have a wee special place for me as they were the first team we played at home ( and first we beat as well :) ). Nice folks and in with a reasonable shout of promotion this year ... best of luck to them ( they'll need it at Beechwood i'm afraid ) ...

RRG, why do you keep trying to extend the hand of friendship to this moron ? He rejects it at every turn and insults you at every opportunity, so I think it's way past time that you give him some of his own medicine . After all, it's not like you're dealing with the sharpest guy on the forum !
So get right in about this fuckwit, and you can expect some backing from the folk who like to see some fair play on here !

Kirkland Green and i may be wrong here runs the unofficial auchinleck talbot website , which to be fair is better than the official one and one of the best website's out there and i think he also takes the pictures at the talbot games again i could be wrong but i am fairly sure he is.
The guy is IMO is obviously not a idiot , i think i just bring out the worst in him . I actually think he quiet likes me :P , his insults are just an east ayrshire way of saying i like you really

Thanks for your backup though quartermain

RRG, the gasworks AFIAK were officially called the Provan Works or Provan Gasworks. As for the railway works, they were laterly known as B.R.E.L (British Rail Engineering Ltd) but officially known as St Rollox Railway Works. To the common working man though they were better known as The Cally.

Great article RRG. The St Rochs website appears to have missed Jimmy McGrory's spell as Killie manager, appointed in December 1937. He led Killie to the Scottish Cup final in 1938 but lost out in a replay to
East Fife. On the way to the final Killie beat Celtic, Ayr Utd, and Rangers. Former Cumnock Juniors players Alan Collins and Dougie McAvoy starred in the Killie side. McGrory stayed with Killie to 1940.
