In all seriousness though, I would rather bin Reid the now, rather than Reid being sacked if we go down. Would love for Marko to hang up his boots and take control as manager and have Jon Robertson be his assistant. 2 guys that know what the fans want and know how to motivate and get the players going.

ETA gave you a greeny, no many sensible posts from a Killie ;)

this

no idea what his management ability would be like, but if his captancy is anything to go by no

i would much prefer we went down the abroath/alloa/cowden road in getting a guy who isnt quite finished playing yet that is a good standard, all 3 of these teams playing good football and getting good results

Someone ?, who for instance ?

As far as Marko for manager, whether you like it or not, he probably will be the next manager of Ayr United if Reid goes for any reason, whether that's now or at the end of the season.

I think he"d be a better manager than Reid but that wouldn't be hard if I'm honest.

I heard he wants to live in Australia but he's going to sit tight and hope the tectonic plates shift enough to give him the opportunity without him having to do anything.

Fair play to Killie for the remarkable spin they have managed to put on what was a pretty abject performance.

Kenny Shiels, in particular, has managed to deflect the embarassment of not being able to beak down the team at the bottom of the First Division for 108 minutes pretty well!

First half they didn't even manage a meaningful shot on goal, and the best move of the game resulted in them cynically scything down our player as he was about to burst into the box. Some of their long balls fired out of the park, mis-controls, easy dispossessions, and thrashes over the bar seem to have, somehow, evaporated from their consciousness in a puff of massive-relief.

Second half certainly they had more pressure, as we allowed them to, and started to create chances as we began to tire. It's true as the game progressed we reverted to more and more defending our position and trying to take the game to extra-time. Funny that, can't think why we would want to do that rather than simply hand them a couple of goals and lose the game. In the end class told and that's fair enough.

Rather than show any humility, however, they are running around like the school bully bragging about how small the kid they have just beaten up is. Somehow they think this doesn't make them look like a bit of a c**t.

I have to say it's been some move by Shiels who has proven himself to be a far better tactician after the game than he was during it. So, ultimately, Ayr are derided for getting to within eight minutes of potentially reaching the League Cup Final. Oh, that's really shown us.

Bravo sir!

Sorry Brian, but even your own fans are disappointed with the way you approached the game. How's the visa application for down under going BTW?

Oh and Ben Gordon had a one on one opportunity with your goalie in the first half. Just saying like.

Nah mate you enjoy yourself, you deserve it!

Continue to go on and on and on about it the way you went on and on and on in 2009 when you knocked us out of the Scottish Cup. At home after a replay. Us having been 1-0 up at half-time. What's that? Oh you had ten men for a brief spell. Yeah I remember the last ten minutes of that game being quite the celebration for Killie fans, once it was clear there was no coming back from Ayr.

And you managed to rob us of over £10k in ticket money - what a truly class outfit!

What's wrong with Scottish Football, and what should be spoken out about, isn't Ayr's performance at Hampden, but Killie's.

The fact that that's the best one of our so-called top clubs can come up with is more of a national embarassment than anything else. Funny how Killie fans are falling over themselves to praise Falkirk for their performance against Celtic. Well it was far better than Killie's was againts Ayr but, oh yeah, that thing Shiels said about Ayr - beautiful divertion.

Yeah, you carry on celebrating - you deserve it!

This isn't about Ayr, it's about Killie, but good attempt at another deflection. As for Ben Gordon, he ran out of room for a cross and resorted to hitting it at the keeper - as you had nobody in our box good enough to make themselves avaliable.

Kenny really did a number on you didn't he Brian? I hear you were on the radio making a c**t of yourself again last night with your ex-ranger media buddies. You do know it's not going to change how Ayr fans feel about the way your tactics let them down. They travelled in good numbers and deserved more than your tactic of curling up into a ball and trying to hold on.

Listen Kenny, you can't fool your fans forever. I hear you're a bit of an oddball and are already starting the alienate other SPL managers and supporters.

Kenny, you're nothing more than a third-rate Martin O'Neil. You try and create the impression that you are a thinker and that you choose your words carefully. You're actually rather pretentious which, clearly, hides deep insecurity over your ability.

Yeah, you are right, I was on the radio last night and me and my ex-Rangers buddies had a wee chortle when I reminded them of your 4-6-0 tactics at Ballymena when you managed to knock Glentoran out of the cup. It seems you are happy to build your reputation based on even more defensive performances than mine. Of course, that is typical of your kind. Years of floundering around as the no-mark you are, and the moment you get a little bit of the spot-light you try and dress up being a classless, pretentious, nut-job as having a personality.

Good luck in the final Kenny.

Don't you know anything? We (County) have loads of money, so instead of a supporters bus for next season, we've invested in a fleet of luxury cars to ferry us to games.

Far too many cars there. One would be enough, if you crammed a couple of fuckers into the boot.

Its a shame Reid gets so much stick. He has been slightly ahead of expectations each season i'd say plus a few cup scalps. His problem is he has always been a baw hair from being a hero - would have won 2nd div if Raith hadn't won 9 games in a row, 45 mins away from survival with a part time squad, 15 mins from 50-50 chance of a final.

I had my doubts in the first half of our first division season but otherwise, i think he has done as well as could reasonably be expected with the resources available to him.

Are you crazy? If we go up, we'll have to shuttle all 17,000 fans accross the Kessock Bridge twice a season.

With Valentines Day approaching it would appear that Ayr are still in trouble, and are still bottom of the league.

At this time of the year, with love in the air, surely its about time for Ayr (Nil) to end their own love affair with Mr Reid.

Due to the overwhelming success of this thread - I will promise to keep my eye on it and move it to the Div 2 forum on GTF day...............it can then run on during next season.

A drunken buffoon of a manager, had a tremendous amount of money flung at him and achieved nothing, a bit like Morton today, only better.
