Minus 6 in Glasgow at the moment, a couple of degrees lower than the Met Office forecast with a very heavy frost. Fearing the worst for the weekend tbh, despite the forecast for Friday being pretty mild.

The problem for the forecasters is that the weather is coming from the East at the moment but sometime on Friday they expect a slightly stronger front to come from the West. There is potential for snow when the two fronts meet but after that the slightly warmer and wetter conditions will continue for several days. I suspect that some of the games in the North (above the Tay) may be at risk but games elsewhere have a 90% chance of being on.

Really cold one last night, but im still hopeful!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2648579
3 degrees overnight tomorrow night and up to 6 or 7 degrees when afternoon comes on Saturday
Just a question of whether the pitches will have a chance to thaw after the freeze last night

I would be very surprised if many in fact any games survive in the North Region just complete frost all round.
Come on the Dons!!

Can't see our game being on, as frost won't be burned off early morning, and a decision must be made early, to save folk travelling from Dalry for nothing.

I think it will be a case of watching the "Egg Chasers "on saturday on tv with the fire turned up full bung.

Glensmad, did you not take the option of undersoil heating when the new ground was being built??
I'm with you mate, unless a tropical heatwave decends upon us from now till Saturday looks like another day with Jeff and the gang on Sky Sports!!

We actually went for the roof option, but it was blown away in the recent storm.

looks as though it's to rain a bit on Friday and Saturday, do you think this might help put some games on?

The rain isn't to come till late Friday night after another hard frost tonight and temperatures barely above freezing tomorrow. The rain is to be heavy and it's to be very windy as well, hardly ideal conditions for football. I reckon most games will be off.

I'm only a couple of miles from Arniston and the weather isny too great and the frost just disny lift from the ground all day so will be very dodgy i would say with the forecast still looking grim for the weekend.

I know you're up in Nairn but what do you reckon the chances of the Forres Thistle v Stonehaven game being on? Hoping it's on as the bus trip is a good laugh but it's clashing with mine and the wife's birthday night out so don't fancy being late for that!

Summer football anyone?
This just shows you why summer footy wouldnt work in Scotland ! if we did have summer football the league would need to start in February and hey ho we'd have most of the games off for the first month of the season if we were starting now!! apparently theres a siberian cold front hitting and this weather may last for a month!!
