I hope this means he'll be steady in the managers position too, it's up for debate whether people think he's a good manager or not but as the link says it's important to stabilise the position and for us to hang onto a managers after a season.

Looking forward to see his opinions of the move as it progresses. Well done chairman.

Caldwell is actually a great centre half however consistency can be an issue for him, technically his distribution of the ball for a defender is as good as Pique or Puyol.

Dont think its up for debate whether he has been a good manager, until we clear the debt and start performing normally - the I feel he can be judged properly. Right now he is working very well with next to no resources.

Very pleased that we have some stability in the Manager's position.

Never saw this coming but as has been said, it could be good in terms of long term stability for the club, having a manager in place for the long term and someone with a bit of football knowledge sounds good to me.

Bring it on!!

It's a strange one for me. Unless it's a planned stepping stone to bring in a new manager relatively soon with Jim Duffy moving up I don't see the reasoning for it. The board and the manager should both be separate entities working towards the same goal. Obviously Jim Duffy has a lot of experience but as he is employed by the club why can't the board simply call on him for his help and advice regarding issues when they are relevant to him.

Also, what will happen if for whatever reason we decide the time has come to remove him as manager? Have a board meeting but say to him, while you are now a director on the board you can't come to the next board meeting cos we want to talk about you behind your back before sacking you from your role as manager?

When Duff Jimmy was at Hearts was he not a Director there? Certainly did not take them long to see through him. ;)

Unless Hearts and Berwick were CIC's at the time, you simply cannot relate them to what he'll be at Clyde. Two different operating ways.

I remember when we were battling Clyde at the top end of the First Division. They were very well represented on this forum and there was a decent rivalry and alot of good banter between the fans. Halcyon days indeed.

Whatever happened to Sao Paulo, ClydeKid, ClydeTillWeDie and the several others whos names I've forgotten anyway?

Sao Paulo has an obsessive hatred with a Clyde midfielder named John Sweeney, and no longer attends Clyde matches as Clyde supporters "burst his hole"

I see there is an interview with Duffy on the OS, he said he asked a few players to leave but they refused and would rather see out their contract. Archdeacon would surely have been one of them but I cant think who else maybe Irvine or Kane?

So... let me get this straight. You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the king of the potato people and you're telling me your completely sane?

Don't think so. I know he's not very good but he's our only back up striker we have

In fairness, your attitude does reek. You claim to have supported us for 40 years, so you must be used to how shite it is being a Clyde fan.
