Might as well start a wee thread now that the windae is shut. Thoughts on how your teams has done?

I must say, i'm very happy with Celtic;s business this januray - under the rader, minimal fuss and all guys who fit the kayal/Izaguiirre archetype. This, to me, is much prefferable than loaning some mid-table premiership striker on £40k a week.

Of course, we don't know if any of them are any good or not, but still it;s nice to look at Celtic's transfer delings and see soem semblance of a strategy

Lustig - Even with Mark Wilson;s mooted move to leeds (not sure if it went through) this struck me as a strange one - Matthews has had a decent season and Cha Du Ri has been competent, if not outstanding back up. what do people think is happening here? Are Celtic preparing for a bid for matthews - or even Izaguiire in the hope of moving Lustig or the Welshman to left back next season?

Fojut - am i correct in saying this is a pre-contract? Nice to see soem form of long term planning at celtic. I understand Wroclaw are fighting it out for the polih title so it;d be nice to have the guy come here on a high from a league win. I'm not certain of the standard of the polish league - some of my polish pals tell me it;s better than Scotland, but i reckon they;d say that regardless :P In any case we've had success scouring Poland before. With a background in british football and at a decent age, Fojut could settle in nicely - pick two out of him, wilson, Mulgrew and Rogne next season?

Ibrahim - a potential ace in the pack. As I said on the thread when we signed this guy, I remember reading about him as the next big thing coming out of the Sporting Lisbon academy a few years ago - no bad praise given its most famous graduates include Luis Figo and Christiano Ronaldo! Clearly, his career hasn;t gone to plan, buit he's young enough to get it back on track. I just hope his attitude is right and he adapts to scottish football as he potentially offers Celtic a new dimension creatively.

Brozek - Speaking of different dimensions - a big burly target man! Pretty much exactly what Celtic have been looking for to comliment Stokes, Hooper and samaras. Perhaps he'll be like Daryl Murphy. Except good.

I haven't really been keeping up with the Rangers situation if I'm honest.

Anyways - thoughts?

I [agree/disagree] with your assessment because you [praised/insulted] a [team/person] that I [support/loathe]. Furthermore, I [admire/ridicule] your writing based on the previous statement, and not on the merit of what was actually written.

[Insert final attempt to be witty here]

Most important thing for me is that we kept a hold of all our key players notably Hooper and Forrest so in that respect i am delighted

I agree with you on Ibrahim, hopefully this lad delivers on the potential we have heard about

Think something may happen with mathews in summer, as for cha, wouldnt even have him as back up, headless chicken! Great at bombing forward, doesnt seem to have ability to lift his head though! If he was a 110m hurdler hed steam out the starting blocks and run straight through every hurdle !Crossing & defending abysmal, a fit Wilson (i know!!!!) & lustig would be more than adequate for RB if a big bid came in for mathews. Thought we might have offloaded one or two more, squad is way too bloated & wage bill needs trimmed. Still at least we're up do date with the taxman!!!!

Happy with the players we have brought in.....think the polish striker looks exciting from the clips I have saw of him....

most important is the fact we retained all our bigger and better players.:)

Would have liked Celtic to move some of the squad players on, as it is El Kaddouri returned to his club and we loaned out 3 youngsters while bringing in Lustig, Ibrahim and Brozek and Rasmussen and Jaurez came back from their loans so we are in a better position than a month ago.

Juarez could yet be an interesting one, he looked a player before something strange seemed to happen behind the scenes and he dissapeared off the face of the earth, maybe he still has something to offer
Rasmussen is one of the worst players i have ever seen in a celtic jersey........... and ive seen martin hayes !
