I must say, i'm very happy with Celtic;s business this januray - under the rader, minimal fuss and all guys who fit the kayal/Izaguiirre archetype. This, to me, is much prefferable than loaning some mid-table premiership striker on £40k a week.
Of course, we don't know if any of them are any good or not, but still it;s nice to look at Celtic's transfer delings and see soem semblance of a strategy
Lustig - Even with Mark Wilson;s mooted move to leeds (not sure if it went through) this struck me as a strange one - Matthews has had a decent season and Cha Du Ri has been competent, if not outstanding back up. what do people think is happening here? Are Celtic preparing for a bid for matthews - or even Izaguiire in the hope of moving Lustig or the Welshman to left back next season?
Fojut - am i correct in saying this is a pre-contract? Nice to see soem form of long term planning at celtic. I understand Wroclaw are fighting it out for the polih title so it;d be nice to have the guy come here on a high from a league win. I'm not certain of the standard of the polish league - some of my polish pals tell me it;s better than Scotland, but i reckon they;d say that regardless
Ibrahim - a potential ace in the pack. As I said on the thread when we signed this guy, I remember reading about him as the next big thing coming out of the Sporting Lisbon academy a few years ago - no bad praise given its most famous graduates include Luis Figo and Christiano Ronaldo! Clearly, his career hasn;t gone to plan, buit he's young enough to get it back on track. I just hope his attitude is right and he adapts to scottish football as he potentially offers Celtic a new dimension creatively.
Brozek - Speaking of different dimensions - a big burly target man! Pretty much exactly what Celtic have been looking for to comliment Stokes, Hooper and samaras. Perhaps he'll be like Daryl Murphy. Except good.
I haven't really been keeping up with the Rangers situation if I'm honest.
Anyways - thoughts?
