Cheers for the insight lads.
As for those labelling the Leith Loan Revolution as 'panic buying', who gives a f**k. We're second bottom of the league with our arse quivering over relegation.
It would be pretty strange if we weren't panicking. The fact that we waited til the last day figures. A lot of loan deals are always made throughout UK on this day as clubs reassess their new squads and move out the guys who wont be involved.
I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head there mate, Hibs and their fans are clearly panicking about relegation and if you'd brought nobody in then you'd be pretty much resigned to going down already (even though Dunfermline will probably keep you up), the fact you've brought in 8 new faces must give the fans a bit of renewed hope to be fair, even if no one really knows a lot about them.
The way I see it is this, I think Fenlon and Petrie have definitely panicked a bit with the volume of players they have brought in, and it does seem like they've plucked anyone from anywhere to try and find a couple of gems in among them (we're guilty of that in the past too so that's not a dig) in a hope that it might just be the difference between pulling away from Dunfermline a bit, and being kept in a dog fight until the end of the season. The worry for me if I was a HIbs fan would be managing to gel the team together if he plans to throw everyone in there at once, as that could have a poor effect on results also. If he decides to bleed them in slowly but surely, then you're stuck with the same majority of players that's not done a job for you thus far, and it's a bit of a catch 22.
Dunfermline only brought in two players, but they were players who were for much needed cover in weak areas, and as a result will still have a very settled side who're use to playing together, if Hibs gamble of flooding the squad doesn't pay off then it could be a torrid end to the season for you guys. I still think Dunfermline will go down though, they appear to have a little less quality than Hibs, and their home record is appalling, but if they start to get a few results at EEP then Hibs could be in bother.

For the next decade I was driven by desire to crush Hibs at EVERY opportunity.
It didn’t matter if I scored for the reserves or first team — every goal against them gave me immense satisfaction.
