Funny how most people forget about the actual islanders themselves. Has Sean Penn or GG even thought of asking what the islanders want?

Having been in the Falklands and actually speaking to the locals on a regular basis it's quite clear that they want to remain British and are proud to be British. Was a honour to be part of the tri-service guard in 2010 for the new governors swearing in parade.

Anyway rant over. I'm away to have a few more beers.

Sean Penn is a f**k up and a Madonna beater. I'm surprised he knows what day of the week it is after all the shite he has put into his system over the years.Posted Image

Is that "the final cut" you're fishing for?

No, that's way over my head.

My Flloyd days were watching The Wall, full of acid 20 years ago.

I'm guessing that would be funny if I got it. ;)

I was alluding to a member of the band being interviewed on Chiliean TV and said the Falklands should be given back to Argentina.

As I haven't seen him being called all the dicks of the day, I assume either everybody missed it, or everybody is a Pink Flloyd fan.

Waters is a money-grubbing git -

Waters arrives in Buenos Aires next week for nine sold-out shows at the River Plate football stadium, with more than 370,000 tickets quickly bought up by eager Argentinian fans almost immediately after they went on sale.

It's the equivalent of Johnny le Gaucho arriving at Glasgow Airport and declaring "Glassgo Rantic are my boyhood heroes and the only team I ever wanted to play for"

The Final Cut was an anti-war statement really but is consistent with Waters' alleged comments.

Britain's lack of air power could allow Argentina to recapture the Falkland Islands, the British commander of land forces during the 1982 war has warned

Former commander of the Royal Marines Major General Julian Thompson said it would be "end of story" if Argentine forces took the British base on East Falkland. Maj Gen Thompson said: "The Argentines have a marine brigade. They've got a parachute brigade and some good special forces."All they've got to do is get those guys on to the islands for long enough to destroy the (RAF) Typhoon jets and that's the end of it.

You have got to take your own air support with you and you can't without a carrier. End of story."In February, the Government accused Argentina of pursuing a "policy of confrontation" over the islands, after reports suggested the South American state's government was calling on companies to stop importing goods from the UK.

It marked the latest escalation of the confrontation over the territory as the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War approaches.

Last month, officials in Argentina's Tierra del Fuego province turned away two British-linked cruise ships from docking over the Falklands dispute.

Tempers flared after Britain deployed one of its most modern destroyers, HMS Dauntless, to the region - although it insisted the move was merely routine.

Prince William's arrival in the Falklands for a posting as an RAF search and rescue pilot further infuriated Buenos Aires.Britain has refused to start talks with Argentina on sovereignty unless the 3,000 Falkland islanders want them to.

I think "wid", is the customary response...
ECR leader Jan Zahradil has attacked the decision to go ahead with the House of History project. Speaking in Strasbourg, the Czech member said, "We do not need this. As Europe is losing competitiveness and geopolitical weight, it is becoming a museum anyway."

was listening to a radio 4 documentary in the car tonight, was rather interesting. It was saying that while the French companies were enforcing an arms embargo on Argentina in public, behind the scenes, they were supplying techical data to the Argentinian forces and the French government were in full knowledge of teams from French defence industries working on exocet missiles.... which sunk the Sheffield.

Is that news? I'm sure I can remember a mild 'anti-frog' campaign while the campaign was in full swing

What the programme was saying was that the French government was saying one thing in public, and turning a blind eye to what was really going on behind closed doors.

The thing is, if the shoe was on the other foot, I'm sure we would have been doing the same.
