Rutherglen Glencairn FC would like to advise junior football supporters that midfielder Matt Flynn is recovering well in hospital after being attacked and seriously injured last weekend.

It is hoped that Matt will be moved out of the Intensive Care Unit today and into a normal ward, and we will do our best to keep the club's supporters informed of Matt's well-being.

We would like to thank everybody for their prayers and good wishes for Matt, who is a very popular figure in the dressing room and around the club in general.

Does Matt come from Castlemilk as i know of Flynn's from there away back,best of luck to the boy and hope the arseholes who done it are caught and dealt with.

Matt's girlfriend sent me a Facebook message tonight to confirm that Matt was now out of intensive care and into a ward. She said he is doing really well, alert and talking, and of course his hair is still perfectly in place. Posted Image
