Cowdenbeat away 91-93

A good contender.

I'd seen all of the strips on this thread before, so I was nodding and chuckling at them. Then this one came up and I did a double-take. Is that real? I'd never seen that before. It's the worst strip I've seen from any country, not just Scotland.

Also that Dundee United Telewest strip is awesome.

It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. And I've been living too hard to believe things are going to get easier now. I'm still trying to shake off the pain from the lessons I've learned. And if I see Van Helsing, I swear to the lord I will slay him. AHA HA HA. He take you from me but I swear I won't let it be so. AHA HA HA. Blood, will run done his face, when he is decapitated AH! His head on my mantle is how I will let this world know...how much I love you.
Die, die, die....I can't

We used to have a yellow away top which I thought was disgusting, I hated it but can't find a pic of it.
Originally written by John Robertson, Hearts legend and hammer of the wee team with 27 fantastic goals!

For the next decade I was driven by desire to crush Hibs at EVERY opportunity.

It didn’t matter if I scored for the reserves or first team — every goal against them gave me immense satisfaction.

That's my favourite strip of all time, I genuinely can't see why people think its up there as worst of all time. Especially seeing some of the shite posted so far, st mirren bib strip and whatever the f**k that thing from hibs was supposed to look like!

I've still got that somewhere in the house, Umbro brought out some really weird stuff in the mid 90's. Looks like someone spewed over you. If you look side on its actually the club crest.

I had that top too, got it one Xmas. Ghastly when you look back on it.
Long ball (often colloquially referred to as 'hoofball') is the term used in association football to describe an attempt, often speculative, to distribute the ball a long distance down the field via a cross, without the intention to pass it to the feet of the receiving player.

It is a technique that can be especially effective for a team with either fast or tall strikers. The long ball technique is also a through pass from distance in an effort to get the ball by the defensive line and create a foot race between striker and defender.[1] While often derided as either boring or primitive,[2] it can prove effective where players or weather conditions suit this style; in particular, it is an effective counter-attacking style of play in which some defenders can be caught off-guard.

At the Semi-Final on Saturday I saw a number of horrific old shirts on display, but in my opinion none worse than Killie's 'effort' this year.

That's a really decent strip I reckon.

I'll get my tin hat on here, I think that green, white and grey Celtic effort is one of the best strips I've seen from a Scottish team in recent years, it's a tidy strip. Also, whilst that black and yellow effort takes a bit of getting used to, it's actually not bad.

Celtic have had some stinkers though:

 That was a brillant top!

everytime i see it i just think of Naka's injury time winner to win the league with Kilmarnock that day, and i also think it was one of John Kennedy's last appearance for the club :(

The lop sided Carling sponsor ruined most of the tops from 2003-10. Don't know anyone who didn't hate that sponsor.

In all honesty Rangers have never really had that bad a home shirt, a dodgy away effort I can think of was:

That was fucking rank.

FWIW, Celtics black & green stripes effort was one of the best ever imo. The grey & yellow ones this year are horrifying.

Maybe it's because the English think they're really funny but aren't? Meaning "laddish" behaviour, in other words, cuntish behaviour.

The Rainjurz tops that season looked like cheap knock-offs of the Nike template from the same year.

You didn't dream it, every single top was indeed different. They just cut the cloth wherever then stuck a badge and Loki logo on, I miss Loki. Bit of a lucky omen in our cup run of 94. Beat Motherwell and Aberdeen in that strip.

One of my pet hates when it comes to away tops, is when the manufacturer changes the colour of the club crest to match the colour of the strip.

The thistle one above is a perfect example

This was the first Accies top I ever owned so I find it hard to hate it even if it should have been the traditional hoops. Another horror from Accies was the Oscilloscope one from the early 90s. Sadly can't find a pic though.

Can't say I'm a big fan of the Morton Tartan efforts.

I loved, and still love, that strip. Looked like it was made by Jackson Pollock. They should bring it back as soon as the contract on the pretend Nike deal farce ends.

And that Scotland away top with the blue and yellow hoops was one of the first strips I owned. Still a thing of beauty if you ask me, and definitely our best ever away shirt.

I love our 'explosion in a paint shop' effort; as do most United fans I know. Seeing as Nike give us identikit shite, Arabtrust should bring out a mock-up of it, it'd sell loads.

Celtic's 2 away tops this season, I also quite like. Wouldn't mind if Nike did us an away shirt like the grey one, with tangerine sleeves.
