Does it? Didn't know that. That sucks IMHO. I'd like to see golden point changed to golden try personally. The scramble for a drop goal is great at the end of regulation but can be farcical in ET. Also there's the issue of who gets the ball first - by and large an advantage? And conceding a penalty inside your 40 is pretty much game over, which I don't like. Play til the first try. Let's have proper rugby.
I like having the golden point as teams generally in ET just sure up their defense that much that there is hardly ever an tries in extra time of play so there is no point whereas the golden point provides a bit of drama and anything can happen out of it. Its probably best to take the kick first in it and peg the opposition back as much as possible in the first set of 6 to gain some more metres for your own set I reckon.

Draws in regular season play are fine though. Why do the Aussies not value them?
Interesting that NRL have done away with the Macintyre Eight and gone with the SL play-off system (well, we nicked it from AFL tbf) but without Clubcall. Good move, never liked the Macintyre system. Too fussy.
I wouldn't say we dont value draws especially after the AFL grand final in 2010 finished in a draw and a replay had to happen the following weekend. I think its just been brought in to provide some extra drama if there is a draw thats all. I agree that the Macintyre system was flawed and its good we have the new system in (which was stolen by the AFL by the ARL years ago). In fact if we had the new system in place last season then the NZ Warriors would never have made the grand final and would have been eliminated in the first weekend of the finals.
