Ok so. ayr players meet three times a week twich for an hour and a half training and once for a match, usually with part time teams this shpuld be the norm, however unlike other part time teams our manager is full time, why CANT/DONT we meet every night for training , i cant imagine there is anything stopping us getting most of the team together most nights?

My impression is that Morton, despite being full-time, only do 3 or 4 days training sessions a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, light session Friday), could be wrong though.

Maybe that's why we've concede so many goals from cross balls and set-pieces

I was thinking about this.
I'd imagine it comes down to work commitments but also the commitment of the players themselves. Training every week night (or even 4 out of the 5) would surely help but effectively halves their hourly rate. Also take into account travelling and that's maybe why it's limited to two nights.
All the more reason to get as many local youngsters from the academy into our squad. They'd be more keen to commit to more training sessions from a personal development angle as well as the team development.

In short - the lower leagues of Scottish football is full of mercenaries.

If it was at night theyd still have their other jobs so i cant see us having to pay more and if we do the amount wouldnt be much more

But then they are effectively giving up more of their time. They have lives outside of football so can't really see them wanting to work 9-5 every day and then go to training every night, especially if they are getting paid the same amount of money.

I know County train Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Two of those days are double sessions and Wednesday is a day off.

Part-time training requires full-time commitment as it is, without expecting the players to give up even more of their free time for no reward. If you're working 40 hrs + a week, have a wife and bairns and are already training with the team twice a week, going out running, going to the gym, watching your diet and what what you drink, then you've already made a full-time commitment.
We must remember that in time of war what is said on the enemy's side of the front is always propaganda and what is said on our side of the front is truth and righteousness, the cause of humanity and a crusade for peace.

If someone paid me £x to be part time I'd be training part time unless I was paid £x +£y, these guys are no different from us.

I would be shocked if Barca do more than 7 hours fitness training per week(not including weights in that statement).

Do Ayr manage 2 45 minute sessions of high intensity high tempo training per week? Doubt it, probably 2 45 minute sessions of middle of the road tempo and intensity followed by a kickabout, one reason Marko might not be the man to takeover the reigns anytime soon.

Exactly. Unless their full-time job is kitchen fitter. ;)

What does the manager do on the days that players don't train?

Who gives a monkeys who boness sign. They quite simply will not pose any threat to linlithgow this season. We have taken a squad who finished three points adrift and improved it all round. Boness have taken a league winning side and ripped it apart on the back of one mans whims. Top 5 at best for boness this year

I believe Brian Reid parks buses for stagecoach.

I get the same impression with our mob. Bobby Barr's always on Twitter posting about how much he loves Gary Bollan after he's given the squad another day off from training.

Our U19s and U17s are 'full time' (YTS or equivalent).

Brian Reid stands on the touchline telling them they're not good enough.

No, I think you've messed up his joke.

To me the implication was their full-time job is a kitchen fitter and there is barely any time left to do that.

So either you have messed that up or I have messed this up.

I thought it was a dig about Kenny Shiels comparing Cammy Bell fitting a kitchen last week to Ayr players working.
