We also had an 11,000 crowd for a game against Ayr, around 8,000 of which consisted of home fans. Both that game and the Falkirk game would have seen a lot of people locked out of an 8,000 seater stadium. My ideal size for Rugby Park would be about 14,000 because that would more or less account for maximum future demand.

It would be daft for a team to decide their capacity based on their average attendances, or even their current highest attendance - because that doesn't account for an improvement. St Mirren might not have had many attendances over 7,000 but they have had some. If their stadium could only hold 7,000 they'd be locking people out.

Why don't you just play all your home games at Hampden then?

So you'd make your club shell out millions on an extra 6000 seats to keep a few fans happy that go once in a blue moon?
jesus f**k it's nae wonder Killie are so much in debt with thinking like that.

Why would 6,000 seats cost "millions"?

Do you think building a 14,000 seater stadium costs the same as a 8,000?

The (very) rough estimate these day is that a new stadium comes in at about a grand per seat. Adding 6,000 seats to the plans for any new stadium would cost in the ball park of 6 million quid.
