The obvious thing to do is to have the SFL season run from March to November.

Clubs benefit from attracting an additional tranche of casual fans who wouldn't dream of shivering their way along to Bayview on a cold winter's day but might pop along with the weans on a sultry July evening.

Players benefit from not having to play in daft conditions.

And of course we fans benefit from being able to watch our teams while in a reasonable degree of comfort.

We can let the SPL get on with doing their own thing - once Rangers go bust and Sky lose what in their eyes is the only Scottish game worth paying money for nobody will care anyway.

The usual nonsense about international matches doesn't apply to SFL clubs though I do remember a memorable occasion when the Mighty Fife's game was postponed because we had too many players on international duty!

We probably lost 200 fans from the replayed Albion Rovers game and will probably lose 300-400 V Dumbarton as that was a Boxing Day match. Losing gate money from 500-600 fans plus hospitality etc. etc. is a sore one.

aye, you'll need that money to fix all the structural damage

Slight promotion-relegation incompabability there, surely?

Nope. We just ingnore the turgid excitment-free SPL and do our own thing. Remember I'm assuming the TV cash won't be there so what's the incentive to join the other lot? Even a quick look at the current sPL crowds confirms the diminishing interest in its games.

Why would a successful SFL Div 1 team want to move from playing matches that mean something to playing entire seasons knowing they'll never win the competition?

I would prefer a comptetitive league where genuine change in the winners is possible rather than the current SPL where you know it will always be R or C.

Fans like meaningful matches and that's what you get in the SFL far more than you do in the SPL.
Yes, of course we can.
