***WEATHER PERMITTING***

Fingers and toes crossed this one is on, after last weekends postponements,
minus temps forcasted for most of the week at night !!

Home win consolidates Sons play off hopes and moves them within ten points of the leaders with a game in hand

Away win Bolsters Cowdens automatic promotion push

Any sort of result for Sons their defence must be on the money from the start

Am I right in thinking Nicoll is suspended? he will be a big miss in the middle if so.

Play offs live on BBC Alba: 7:30pm Wednesday, 4:00pm Sunday, Mon eh Sons

Does anyone know if the floodlights have been fixed yet?
It's like deja vu, all over again.

Got a good feeling about Dumbarton in this one! Fingers crossed we pick up the wins against Stirling and Airfrie whilst Cowden slip up here to leave us at the top come 5pm Saturday... If only it was that easy! Mon the Sons

I'd be surprised if this goes ahead frankly. The forecast is dismal. Another one for March
East Fife players were said to be "covered in chicken tikka and potatoes" after a fracas in the cafeteria during an Irish Sea crossing.

FFS give it a rest, go and pester some of your near neighbours.
If this game is off and you win the next two you'll be top anyway, worry about your own team.

It's been very frosty of late, particularly overnight, and the forecast doesn't look like changing as the week goes on. However, I really hope this goes ahead and we can avoid future fixture congestion. The drop in crowds for Tuesday night games is substantial so it'd be good to avoid having too many midweek games to come.

If the game does go ahead, it'd be good to see Nugent reinstated in some capacity, especially if, as BMSS says, Nicoll is suspended as it'd be good to have another experienced head on the park in that case. I'd also be tempted (assuming that I get asked to pick the team, I'll leave my phone on just in case) to start Walker and bench Graham as I think Walker's running and harassing of defenders would be essential against the league leaders if we're to stand a hope of getting a result. Cowden are a good team and are deservedly sitting top of the league so we'll need to be on top form if we are to take points off of them, though in saying that, part of me feels we should be able to take points off anyone in this league at home.

Fingers crossed it goes ahead and we can get some weekend footy back and keep our recent momentum up.
We will never forget you, Guido.

With Cowdenbeath and Arbroath being the main challengers at the moment then obviously he's going to be interested in your result.

All Lichtie support for the Sons this weekend is welcome :D

Good point brought up about the lights, have they been sorted?

You'd like to think they would be, having had 3-4 weeks to get them fixed.

Not that it'll matter much, game will most likely be off.

Comfortable away win or a postponement. If Glasgow's 6th team cant get their floodlights working its a bit of a joke.

We actually have a very good record through there ever since the 2-1 game with with 143 minute winner for the Sons.

Was that the season where we won the league and you didn't?

The season we got promoted? And we subsequently won promotion to the 1st? Yes it was, you are correct. It's gone well since.

No argument about the interest or right to post (even if it's the third one in) but this one has a habit of trying to wind folk up.
If there is a problem with the lights could the game not be started earlier - really don't want any more games off.

You shouldn't take the bait AC. With Cowden and Arbroath fighting it out at the top fans of both sides are always going to try and wind each other up on here thats fitba as they say.

Edited to add.
Just noticed your bit about the floodlights their game with Brechin kicked off at 1.30 when the floodlights wern't working a few weeks ago, take it it would be the same on Saturday if the lights are still out of action.
When I was in at CP on Friday afternoon no one mentioned anything about it. I would imagine if the lights were still out of order Dumbarton would have been in touch to ask about an early kick off.
Anyway hopefully the game will be on don't really fancy trailing through to Dumbarton for a midweek game.

Aye, you're right enough there's never any Cowden fans on here trying to wind folk up! :P

Lights have been fixed so it's just down to whether or not Mr Frost shows up.

Speaking of which, the lad who played in the free kick for Ben Gordon's winning header in that match, David Gray, has rejoined Dumbarton until the end of the season.

Didn't play all that much in 2009 under Chapman and was released from his contract early but had a decent cross and good delivery from set pieces as I recall. Seems to have been pretty popular with the Junior sides he's played with for his crossing and free kick abilties.
We will never forget you, Guido.

I had headed for the stadium bar right around the 94th minute or so as I was convinced that the whistle was imminent. Nipped to the toilets and heard a massive cheer from the stand above, ran out to the concourse and saw everyone celebrating

That's what I get for sneaking off to beat the queue at the bar

Seems a bit of an odd one. Says he's been with Airdrie but I don't recall them talking about him much so I doubt he's had much game time with them. Anyway, welcome back Davie :) .

At that time we were allowed to exit at the corner flag and I had wandered onto the track just as the ball hit the net. Perfect angle. What lower league football is about. :D

Train 10.21 from Cowden International, in Dumbarton for 12.40.

Any tips for pubs lads? Always go the the Bowling Club, but 1st time we've taken the train here. Is it far from station to ground?
