After a fighting win for Alloa against Montrose maintaining a 4 point gap at the top and a resurgence in form for Peterhead, who will triumph in this midweek clash or will both teams share the points?

Hard one to call, Alloa were pretty poor on Saturday and still managed a win. With McCord coming back in it should strengthen up the midfield which would help alot.
Peterhead seem to be playing well lately and have an undoubtedly good squad. I didn't see much from them at the Recs earlier on in the season but there season has greatly improved since then...
I'd hope Alloa can keep the unbeaten run going, 2-1 Alloa again I'm saying

Hopefully a home game where all the talking points are on the pitch!! I would be happy with a draw in this 1 to keep the run going but a win could stretch a bit of a gap at the top of the league.

We have not had the best of fortune down there since the Rec went plastic but although not getting beat would seen as not a bad result hopefully Jim will have the team looking for 3pts. We are certainly getting more competitive than earlier in the season.

Peterhead had a fine win against Queens Park at the weekend so they should be feeling reasonably confident they can take something from this game but in all honestly I reckon the home side will win by at least a 2 goal margin.

Our win against Montrose came late because we were playing a team who were marking closely and almost man for man. It was only as they started to tire and when Armand came on to hold down two or three defenders by himself that we were able to make the space that we needed. Don't think that peterhead has that sort of player in abundance in their squad, regardless of the considerable ability that many of them have. That said, a more open game that might suit us a little better could be what is on the cards. There is a lot of fight in this squad of players and though Peterhead are becoming more organized and playing more as a team, I feel that we will win this one, though probably not that easily.

Great to get the 3 points and a gap at the top of the league. First half i thought we were excellent and fully deserved to go into the break 2-1 up, Peterhead's goal came from Ben Gordon getting too tight to McCalister and allowing him to turn and get the shot away but it's good to see the diving whinging hasn't changed
.
2nd half i thought we didn't play well again just like Saturday and a few times tonight when we got into attacking positions we made the wrong choices going for goal rather than passing the ball. I'm not even going to bother about moaning about officials tonight it's getting a well known fact that because we have May the other teams are just targeting him to kick him off the park and it's 9 goals in 8 games now so GIRUY to the opposition defenders.

Excellent game of football! McAllisters goal was an absolute screamer, Dochertys reply was almost as good. Peterhead had lots of pressure and dominated, controlling the midfield and winning corner after corner. The defence played well, especially Doyle when he moved inside to replace Gordon.
Given that the same team played today, it certainly shows what a difference the style of the opposition makes to the game. Whereas Montrose were more interested in defending and man to man marking, Peterhead challenged for the ball and were keen to get forward. The extra room suited Alloa though the usual problem of passing the ball out of defence was still apparent. The midfield needs to move about more to make themselves more available to receive passes from the back. Apart from that, this was a good team performance and the teams provided a fast paced and exciting game. Alloa finished better. though we were outplayed a bit in midfield.

Pretty much agree with whats been said above. Satisfactory performance, great result. Few too many cloggers in the Peterheid team though. Amazed the ref was so leniant.
Shame that the ultras have been banned. The atmosphere was dead tonight. They would have added greatly to a good night. Hopefully sense will prevail from all concerned.

I thought Bain was excellent last night aswell, That double save he made in the 2nd half would be getting creamed over on sky sports news if it was Petr Cech or David De Gea or Joe Hart.

9 goals in just 8 matches is a fantastic record for a young striker at any level.
Well done Stevie May.

Just out of interest, what do the Alloa fans think of the McCord brothers?

Have to say they are excelent when playing, the down side is Ryan's stupidity with bookings. Hardly a game goes by where he isn't booked, spoiling what would be an excelent game.
When both are on the field, they link up well with flair and passion, and Ryan isn't scared to have a crack at goal given the chance.
Glad we have them TBH
