he was terrible.

the guy was terrible at getting the midfield going and often choose to play daft chip kicks when we were in good position. he should never have been allowed to play for scotland again after the debacle at the end of the england game at the world cup.

True story. I used to live upstairs from Gordon Bulloch. Bulloch's decision to retire from Glasgow/Scotland coincided with Parks waltzing in from Australia to play 10 for club and country. His own team-mates knew he wasn't good enough to play even for Glasgow, let alone Scotland, and so it proved. Parks is good at drop goals. That's it. He won't be missed, but Jackson, who was once the poster boy of the SRU, really needs to make the step up. He hasn't impressed in any of his games for the national team. God forbid we have to go back to Godawful.

No idea... Saturday is the first time I'd seen him.

Only concern was that he looked very small, albeit game. Could be a liability in defence.

I'd have Laidlaw but also Weir in the team to be honest. Duncan Weir might be inexperienced but what better way to get it and his kicking has been dragging Glasgow this season. Won't happen however.

Ansbro back would be a big boost too.

Think dan parks should be invited back in the future as a kicking coach. Glad that he has retired now. Hopefully laidlaw will now get the chance to come in and make the 10 top his own.

Anyway on to Wales. Is anyone going down for the game? Hope ansbro is fit and starts. Wouldn't change the forwards.

Also don't think anyone will win the grand slam this year.

I'm in the odd position of goint 'up' for this game as its just a hop over the severn bridge for me.:D

God botherer prop dropped, Geoff "moron" Cross in. Weir on the bench alongside Hogg and Glasgow reserve Kalman (report on him to follow...) Nick De Luca still in the team. No Ansboro, although apparently he's fit.

Edited to add, Sky Fairy Boy isn't dropped, he's just having a day off, you know, just because its not important and he doesn't want old JHC to get all upset.

I'm going. The rugby club are on going down on Friday. Bus leaves at 0600 and were returning on Monday. Staying in Swansea but travelling to the game on the Sunday.

Davis has been banned for his tackle/assualt for 7 weeks so misses the rest of the 6 nattions. He was due to get a 12 week ban but it was reduced to 7 due to guilty plee from player.

First time I've ever been able to go due to the navy. Looking well forward to it. The rule on the bus is a twelve can minimum carry out. Anything less and your fined.

Speaking of him, Edinburgh just lost 14-15 to the Ospreys. They missed out on eight points from simple kicks as Paterson has a groin strain and Godman was taking them. One of them was right in front of the posts. He also tried a box kick 5 yards from his own line at one point which was charged down and could easily have cost them a try. Truly hopeless player.

Huge snowstorm hit Rome a couple of hours ago leaving the pitch blanketed white. However, they've cleared the lines with snowblowers - and though 15,000 people are thought to be unable to make it in due to road conditions, the game goes ahead. This is Italy's debut at the Olympic Stadium (home of Roma/Lazio), having moved from the old Olympic Stadium (Flaminio).
