Well that is shit, but a honking team lineup to start.
5 played and 5 defeats.
I thought against England we let them away with it. Thought we looked promising, against Wales, silly cards cost us but looking good. However time and time again throughout this tournament the individual and team errors have caused us huge problems. Silly penalties, bad handling, just not good.
Someone put a comment on the BBC, "Careful when you hand Scotland the wooden spoon- they might drop it" sums our 'rugby' up.
Not sure what the next course of action is but it should be to clear some of that team out.

I really didn't think our second half performance could have been worse than the first, but... What on earth was that? That was 80 minutes of completely inept rugby. That must be our worst display for years, it was pitiful.

I'm not a rugby fan at all but the scenes at Millennium Stadium there were incredible. Great passion and the best stadium in the UK IMO

If Carlsberg did Saturdays then they sure as hell fucked this one up.
Andy Robinson and Gus MacPherson rewarded for failure at every turn.

Cardiff this night, on a Slam-winning St. Paddy's Saturday night, was a complete mess. I'm not sure I'll ever recover from this. I'm not sure I'll ever forget the image of persons vomiting. Good times.

Surely Robinson will now be given the boot - this is a man who has made the current Scotland team the worst in the professional era. It will be the silver lining to the large black cloud of this year's 6 nations tournament.
As for letting new entrants into the 6 nations - why not have a 6 nations 2nd division, with promotion and relegation? It would be great way to get Scotland and Italy to buck up their ideas, plus would be a massive incentive to Romania, Spain etc to improve their game as well.

Not a crazy idea, that. The European Nations Cup (Six Nations B) already exists, just a question of opening the trap door. If we got relegated it'd be a chance to tour the national team around the country as Murrayfield would be wasted. It's a turkeys and Christmas scenario though, unlikely to happen.

Surely Scotland would just yo-yo between divisions though?

The point is that it would provide a bigger incentive for the likes of Scotland, Italy and the better teams outwith the 6 nations to improve - so the relative standards would not remain the same. But as morrison says, it's unlikely to happen.

There's a few problems with that, I believe. The Home Nations need to be involved, that's tradition and the basis of the entire tournament. Secondly, prices at the Milly Stad are £61 minimum; they're difficult to shift for Italy and they'd be an impossibility to shift for Wales v. Spain! Rugby in Europe is massively regional and nations really do need to work up to tier 1 level, I feel.

Only going to get to tier 1 by playing teams at that level.

Debatable. Argentina have spent most of the last few years sat on their arses and it hasn't done them much harm. At the very least a European side should consistently prove itself at the second tier level before attempting the step up, and Romania just appear (from the outside) to be getting worse while Spain and Russia are so far off it doesn't bear contemplating.
But my first point is the bigger one for me, maintaining the Home Nations. It is the tournament's niche. Besides, Scottish rugby doesn't really exist outside the 6N, does it? Everything is propped up by the SRU from that.

Georgia appear to be comfortably the seventh best team in Europe just now. Maybe straight relegation is something that would be flatly refused, but a play-off on the other hand... Could either be a one-off game with the Tier II side hosting or a two-legged affair, but could be interesting. Scotland would be reasonably strong favourites to win any such tie but it would at least give annual competitive games to the Tier II sides.
