Reading my Daily Star at breakfast this morning and read this article. Hull City have a lad called Cameron Stewart. Born in England, has a Scottish mum. Artile saying Levien looking at him. Nick Barmby his club manager saying he should aim for England not Scotland.
What are peoples thoughts. I always think it should be your country or parents country of birth. If his Dad is English and so is this lad, then can't blame him for wanting England. Is it wrong for Levien to try and lure him away at such a young age.
I hate the fact we lose players so young to Ireland. But worse with grandparents. To be fair to this lad, if England is his desired choice we should leave him be now. Don't want him snubbing us now, but say at 24 no England call up and him coming running back to us. I do think Nick Barmby should stay out of this though. Only the player himself should opt for who he wants to play for.

NICK Barmby wants Hull City winger Cameron Stewart to reject approaches from Scotland and set his sights on becoming an England star.
The former Manchester United youth player has already turned out for the national team from under-17s to under-20s level.
As reported, Craig Levein wants Stewart, whose mother is Scottish, to play for the Tartan Army.
Stewart was named in a Scotland under-17s squad in 2008 but failed to take up the offer, and even though he has played for England, he could switch allegiance to turn out for either Scotland under-21s or Levein's side.
But Tigers' boss Barmby, who made 13 starts and 10 substitute appearances during his time with the national side, said: "As an Englishman, I'd love to see Cameron in an England shirt but that's down to him.
"It wouldn't surprise me that Craig Levein is interested in taking him for Scotland but as far as I'm aware Cameron's from Salford.
"I'm sure there's quite a few people tracking Cameron because of the type of player he is, but who he plays for is up to Cameron."
* WILL Atkinson has joined Bradford City on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move.
The 23-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at fellow League Two side Plymouth Argyle, scoring four goals in 25 games.

Scotland are pathetic under Levein.
If the lad wants to play for Scotland let him choose himself. The likes of Stewart etc will always look at Scotland as 2nd best because they know desperate and pish a nation we are. So he might as well aim for the sky and try get in the England team and if it doesn't work out, then he knows that by the time he's 22-23 he'll be playing for Scotland although he may not make a major finals, he'll be 'so close'.

I agree.
It's a much better idea to be insular and let good players slip through the net when they might well have an interest in playing for us.

It's okay, Levein wants Stewart to play for the Tartan Army, rather than the international team.

Yeah, Levein really is pathetic, trying to do the job he's paid for...what a knob eh.

Why not convince him now?
Gabby Agbonlahor could have done a job for us if we tried enough. Now he has 1 competitive England cap and probably won't see another.
