A very disappointing display from Broxburn today, they looked very much like a team that thought all they had to do to win was turn up. Downfield worked hard for the full 90 minutes and will be disappointed to leave with just the one point, especially with the a goalkeeping error playing a big part in Broxburn's equaliser. While Downfield did have a fair bit of good fortune in their own penalty area they were thwarted on a couple of occasions by fine saves by Gary Maley in the Broxburn goal in the second half. It was good to see Gary having a good game after coming on at half time as he had a very disappointing showing when he last got an opportunity in the Scottish away to Girvan. One thing I will say about Downfield though is that if their players apply themsleves in the remainder of the fixtures as they did today then they do have a real chance of avoiding the drop. Downfield also took a pretty decent support with them today given the distance they were travelling on a cold January day with their team bottom of the league. Good luck to them for the rest of the season, apart from the return game of course.

i find this result as the shock of the season so far in this league.recently they have been beaten by ballingry and nitten quite convincingly and to go through to broxburn on astro and still come away with a result astounds me.burn must be hurting as league will show they will have pressed for 2nd place with their game in hand.

Have to agree with you Max, very poor from broxburn today. Downfield were very unlucky not to come away with a win and on this showing they could stay in the league if they can maintain that level of performance. Good to see big Gary being back close to his best inbetween the sticks along with Young he was our best player yesterday
