I'm not sure I'd back the top 4 Senior non-leaguers... assuming we're not talking Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Dundee Utd
!!... getting into the Junior Cup: they already get rewarded with byes to R2 of the Scottish Cup; entry to SFL Challenge Cup; etc.
The fact they're successful and high-quality would also make them candidates to progress far in the cup, which is 8 rounds long with replays... logistical nightmare.
However, letting in the 4 best (or all) SFA non-member Seniors might work.
If there was a unified pyramid system in future, then clearly the Junior Cup should become the FA Trophy equivalent.
Similarly, the Amateur Cup the FA Vase.

Interesting to see most wanting an all in approach. A single cup to rule them all.
Will ask Bonnyrigg and Tranent if they would back that tonight! Any comment put here I might read out!! Post your thoughts.
7-9pm 98.8fm in Edinburgh and online!!

Would certain issues with retainment fees need to be scrapped to allow these teams in? 3 different types of contract I'm led to believe are signed from each level junior/senior/amateur

Just as well Seniors didn't think similarly... you'd never have had your run, and trip to Tynecastle!!

Juniors play in the Senior cup fine, despite retention and reinstatement (though that's not to say both aren't outdated and should be abolished).

Interesting to see the vote above is very pro an all in tournament. During the show those getting in touch said they would welcome senior sides into the junior cup.
If anyone listened to the show I'd be delighted for your feedback. Have only been doing it for a few months so any feedback is very welcome!
The phone in is on every Friday 7-9 pm and we always try and spend an hour on non league football topics!

I listened to your show and enjoyed it . It was good to hear junior football on the air and it gave a small insight into senior South leagues which I know nothing about . If it's on every Friday I'll be a regular listener .

As long as the guy representing the juniors is institutionally biased against teams like Newtongrange and Linlithgow you'll be listeners-light. You'd be as well having Joe on as a guest. I'd listen to what the likes of The Old Northerner, Burnie Man, Taurus or John Spowart had to say but I'm not interested in listening to the ramblings of Musseyboy given some of the stuff he's been firing about on here. Slightly more concerning is that people start to think he's representing the collective voice of the juniors. Shame too because there was a time when he was a very decent, sensible poster on here.

I agree with Taurus, I thought the show was good as well, it certainly passed a good couple of hours on a Friday night when your skint and don't get paid until Monday. Like Taurus, I'll be a regular listener as well. Keep up the good work.

If you can find any posts that are institutionally biased against Newtongrange then fair play to you - i will save you time and tell you that i aint biased against them - can give you a few examples of non biase just to aid my cause and I have been to more Newtongrange games this season than any other team
As for your team I think you will find more posts in favour of Linlithgow than against them. - can give you plenty where I have praised the work that your excellent committee do etc
Someone should have told you - IT was a football phone in - so your views just the same as anyone elses views could have been heard
As it was Tranent Juniors, Leith, Spartans and thejuniors.info choose this excellent chance to try to attract people from one of the most densely populated areas in Scotland. Others had the chance, 2 hours is a long time but many decided not to take part.
What not to do is slate the folk that did the work to get a foot in the door of an excellent radio station - and even worse mate Dont take too much thats said on here seriously. Half the folk on here have so many accounts they can argue with themselves for weeks.
Maybe instead of wasting time on me take a look further down the topics at the 14+ pages of utter garbage written by so called supporters in the Burgh Auchinleck slag off - spend a week looking through that to see if any of it credits the junior game. - They choose to spend hours a week at that - I choose to spend it building links with local media
who is trying to promote the juniors?

It is a football phone in and we look for people to engage. If you listen in and don't agree then is say very much get in touch. If burnie, old northerner or Taurus want to get in touch I'd love to hear from you.
I guess non winter football will be a topic again next week, as will senior non league sides in the junior cup. Not many games this weekend to talk over.
Welcome the feedback and appreciate the kind comments given above.
