Ive got a .avi movie which will play fine using VLC player but when I put it on a memory stick and play it through the television it plays the video track fine but won't show the subtitles. There's Is a way to toggle the audio tracks via the tv but apparantly not the subtitle track unless viewing on a computer.
Someone told me I may have to update the firmware on the telly from samsung via USB??? Or can I change something before I transfer it to USB?
Muchos gracias

Subtitles are on a different file, have you copied that one to the stick and can the tv read it? "srt" I think. Just a thot.

As wunfellaff said, they're on a different file. I'd be surprised if your telly would play them. There's a program called TMPGenc that has an option to hard burn subtitles, which essentially makes them part of the video.

Some media devices require you to have the subtitles as the same title as the movie. For example, Hanna.avi and Hanna.srt.
