I seen abit of this on sky sports news the otherday not sure if it was some offical of AFC Wimbeldon saying he would rather they never meet and that they by pass each other in the leagues and MK go bust it was quite funny

There was a possibility a few years ago MK & Wimbledon may have drawn each other in the FA cup, I'm sure I read a story saying Wimbledon would have rather forfeited the tie than play MK, as they believed plying them would acknowledge MK right to be a league club, or something similar

The irony of this coming from a Caley fan is too much.

Highland Cowden is right, Thistle should have been dropped from ICT years ago.

The half-dozen aggrieved Thistle fans should start a phoenix club.

The main difference between what happened with Caley and Thistle and what happened with Wimbeldon is that, as said above, there was no choice but to merge to advance into the league and, more importantly, there was a vote of the members of each club to merge.

I don't really want to derail the thread but hopefully someone can answer it in fairly short order... when Caledonian and Thistle merged into what became ICT, was there any serious attempt from either club's support to form a 'continuation' club in the HFL, NR Juniors, even North Caledonian League?

Don't think so. There used to be a club in the local Welfare league called Caledonian but I don't think that was anything to do with Caley or the merger.
