Just mentioned this on the Man V Food thread but I think it deserves a thread of its own. A Cafe in Great Yarmouth apparently has a dish called "The Kids Breakfast" which weighs the same as a small child (10lbs). It costs £15 and if you can eat it in 60 mins or less you get it for free....

I think it's a fried egg, but when the yolk has been burst and mixed in with the egg white.

I want to try that. I reckon I'd be able to give it a decent attempt.

From what I can make out, this consist of
10 sausages
6 fried eggs
4 slice of black pudding
3 plum tomatoes
4 halves of grilled tomato
10 slice of bacon
A heap of mushrooms
A heap of fried tatties
A heap of beans
A couple of omlettes
8 slice of buttered bread
8 slice of toast
8 slice of fried bread

At £15.00 thats brilliant value for money!!

You would get 4 breakfasts of
2.5 sausages
1.5 fried eggs
1 slice of black pudding
0.75 plum tomatoes
half a grilled tomato
2.5 slice of bacon
a quarter heap of mushrooms, tatties and beans
Half an omelette
2 slice each of buttered bread, toast and fried bread for £3.75 each.......Bargain!!

Even better value f it was based on this fat wee chubbers weight!!

I'd definitely need to smoke a massive joint before attempting that.

Reckon I could give a good account of myself...

Having said that, these 'food challenges' are usually a bit grotesque. Surely the point in eating food is to enjoy it rather than give yourself indigestion proving some weird point?

I was a bit suspect of the cost myself. We can only hope and pray it's true. Godspeed to anyone from here that attempts it!

I'm pretty sure Di Maggio's does some sort of hot chicken wing challenge. I want to try that at some point.
Pinto are also planning on doing one. It'll be something to do with a massive burrito. Their normal burritos are hard enough to finish!

I'd quite fancy getting wasted then starving myself the next day before taking that on.

The sausages and bacon must be the cheapest of the cheap to give you all that for £15 with the added risk that you might actually eat it and get it for free.

I will pass on it, I dont eat eggs.

There's an Indian I was in down in Newcastle which claims to have the UK's hottest curry. If you finish it you get a certificate and the bill is torn up.

you can buy it

I believe recently they've started doing "taster" portions which don't qualify for the challenge, which is a good idea as I'd like to try it but didn't want to waste £10 on something if I was never gonna finish it.

On a separate note, what Man vs Food style challenge would *you* like to take on in an eating contest? I was actually thinking about this last night as I blasted through some pistachio nuts in double quick time.

I reckon either them, Jaffa cakes, or Golden Wonder cheese & onion flavour* crisp challenge would be my best bet.

* My view may be influenced by the fact the multipack bags contain about 6 crisps each.

Jaffa cakes

Apparently the world record of the most Jaffa Cakes eaten in one minute is eight. I'd like to give that a shot.

A place near me called spur steakhouse does a 64 ounce challenge thats free if its finished in an hour. they also give you three scoops of coleslaw and three scoops of mash and you have to finish the lot.
My mate did it once and a few of us went down to watch instead of 1 big steak its 6 smaller ones piled on top of each other.they were all chewy as f**k and he gave up more from the pain in his temples chewing than from being full.
There are a few photos on the wall of people who have done the challenge looking fairly sorry for themselves
Rappin fur the family again.
