Hey just a heads up to those that want to hear Rovers play by play broadcasts ( mostly home games ) go to this site http://www.raithrove....net/index.php#
If they get enough interest ,the possibility of a video of live games in the future for us out of the UK
Listened to the first two ( Test runs ) and the guys are fantastic , makes my Saturday mornings worth getting up for !

Is a payment made to the SFL for allowing Raith to use their product?

Last season Falkirk were quick to ban a commentary of our first trip there (yet strangely are allowed to broadcast their games live to their ex-pat fans).

Assuming that since you've played Morton twice recently our club have been suitably imbursed for their role, with at least one of the games probably having involved us?

Are the majority of Morton supporters complete fannies?
You got a cake from us a while ago, that's yer lot.

Is this service available from within the UK if you can't make it to games as I heard that it will be for expats only?

I thought that may have been more for advertising and wasn't sure if they were IP blocking the UK on the site or not.
May be down to legalities of course.

I'm pretty sure the two test runs were Morecambe at home pre season, and Falkirk at home last week.

But please, carry on with the tears.
Long ball (often colloquially referred to as 'hoofball') is the term used in association football to describe an attempt, often speculative, to distribute the ball a long distance down the field via a cross, without the intention to pass it to the feet of the receiving player.

It is a technique that can be especially effective for a team with either fast or tall strikers. The long ball technique is also a through pass from distance in an effort to get the ball by the defensive line and create a foot race between striker and defender.[1] While often derided as either boring or primitive,[2] it can prove effective where players or weather conditions suit this style; in particular, it is an effective counter-attacking style of play in which some defenders can be caught off-guard.

The commentary is available in the UK but any future live video will only be available outside the UK.

Didn't Morton used to run a similar service? Worth seeing if we've been reimbursed for our role in those games first...

In that case, it does need clearance from the SFL - and potentially payment to them - in the same way the Morton one did

Morton used to have an audio commentary but it was stopped by the SFL. I suspect Raith's service will eventually get spotted by them and curtailed. There seems to be some rule that prohibits it on the grounds that the SFL don't get their cut...

f**k the SFL.

Seriously, what a completely backwards, useless organising body.

Longmuir aside, SFL's a collective of clubs and their reps.

If the Board cracks-down upon clubs for impinging existing contracts, it's other clubs and their reps doing so, effectively?

I believe the guys at roversabroad have agreed a rights package with the SFL. All is above board and legit. I believe the Morton service was shut down because they were broadcasting without the relevant rights in place.

No they didn't. Some individual Morton fans did. Good luck trying to get your cash.

I remembered that I still had this on my favorites bar, the Morcambe game IIRC.

Well done to the SFL for tackling the rogue clubs and their pirate illegal streams, after all, they can certainly refuse to allow this when there is such a depth of quality media coverage for their leagues and clubs on offer out there in the wider world. [/sarcasm]

This is what all clubs should have, give fans outside of the UK more interaction with the club.
