Same here.

Hope the website problems get sorted as not everyone is into the twitter stuff.

That would just be suicidal if that was the case! Surely they still have the html files? Or their web host not creating auto back ups?

There are places you can go online where old versions of websites are archived so there's a chance most of the old material is all still out there somewhere.

No doubt that will be an excellent help in the coming months of work ahead.

With the look back there it is excellent to see how far the site had come - Although I like the Euro 2008 page. Looks like our web team had far too much spare time.

Many thanks for the link

WEBSITE STATEMENT

Welcome back to www.musselburghathletic.com, as you may have heard our site was taken offline at the request of the management on the 22nd January. I was really disappointed at the reason given for removing the site, mainly because I felt them to be incorrect and wildly inaccurate.

The Chairman and committee have reversed that and we will run without interference till the end of the season at which point like every other season we will meet with the club to discuss its future. The site is not mine – it belongs to the club and the supporters, all I do is update it with the information given or obtained. The site has grown massively in recent years and we will soon be celebrating 7 years of promoting the club online. Our figures for this year have trebled on last year and whilst this can be put down to the excellent form of the team I think a great deal of credit has to go to our web team for the promotional work that goes on behind the scenes.

Moving forward for the rest of the season we will continue to promote the club as best as possible. This will be done by communication with the club Chairman and the committee. We intend to return the website to the condition it was in a few years ago with full match reports and highlights from all games. This will happen and there will be no interference. With that in mind we require a match reporter and a person to film the games. Please get in touch if you can help us for some or all of the season.

Our site has always strived to promote the club in everything we do. Many other sites have used our frame work and looked to our site for inspiration and ideas. Our twitter link has transformed the way our supporters are informed and from recent correspondents I know that at least from their point of view the site is appreciated. The site is there to keep our supporters informed of what is happening both on and off the park, this in turn brings new support in and more importantly keeps our core support. It is there to give local and National media information from which they can promote the club.

Our plans for the site will remain in place and further announcements will be made in the coming weeks. Please excuse our current appearance whilst we rebuild and update the site. The only information that will not be online will be to do with the playing staff and management from which the site has cut its ties.

We would like to thank the club Chairman, Committee, supporters, local media and players for their commitment and understanding in the last three weeks. We will work hard to ensure bridges with all of them are strong and secure.

Our site prides itself in being one of the best junior sites online. To be a good site you don't need flashing lights and amazing graphics – You need to be kept up to date and accurate. We have been exactly that for the last 7 years and intend to carry on without interference for many more to come.

It looks like Musselburgh Athletic are lucky to have such a enthusiastic person working so hard on the club's behalf. Let's hope there are no further problems and he is allowed to keep up the good work.

so the management basically thought the website etc was helping the opposition plan again against their own team

that is funny.

So you now have a football clubs website which is run and updated through the hard work of a volunteer, but he is not allowed to put anything about the playing staff or management on it!

So if Musselburgh sign a new player sell someone or if you want to have a look at who is playing for them, you cant find this out via the website, but you can Read the manager in the paper telling you anyway.

I think someone's EGO is to big to take someone else getting some credit, and he doesn't like Ryan's name being linked with the club in the media rather than his own.

Might be wrong though.

Well im not going to get into all that - my name has never been on the website anyway so I doubt that is the case

I wont be getting involved in any name calling etc everyone has their reasons

All I will say is that they have their Chairman and Committee to thank for its return and a two week absence has and will have a bad effect on its abilty to bring folk through the gates.

That is the last that will be said on the subject - I hope site can continue to set the pace and progress till the end of the season.
