Taking inspiration from the events of last year's internet inspired Arab Spring they were instigating a worldwide redistribution of wealth by means of violent revolution mate.....we all saw the start of it on the terraces at Olivebank on Saturday...

probably the same reasons that the manager at my team wanted me to stop doing the match reports and in the end, the website too....

Managers are all the same.... they want the publicity when things are going well but are quite happy to stab you in the back to make sure you don't report on the 8-1 humpings

the guy who ran the site should have told him to gtf unless of course the club paid for the site.
there are some clubs who want the internet publicity but wont help financially.

If you go to the website this is what it says.

Due to unforseen issues this
website is now closed

Exactly what did the management disapprove of on the site? It was definitely one of better sites out there, and if it's indeed the case that it was closed down at the request of the management, that's nothing short of embarrassing for the club. They're from East Lothian ffs, not North Korea...

Pretty stupid move, people need to learn to adapt. The manager should get someone, a student (sports journo student to be fair) to do match reports on a website/podcast for free. That way you can limit the negative effect and turn the whole situation into a contructive situation for the fans/club to look at. There's plenty of sports journo students out there looking for material to work with.

Musseyboy from this forum, Ryan his name is. He started and i think still was running the website.

There was nothing at all on the site in terms of match reports or video footage for anyone to take offence.

Sounds like McGlynn has went in a wee cream puff??

It was one of the better websites around. Maybe Mussyboy could come on and explain what has happened. He certainly made some well judged posts on the thread regarding the Musselburgh programme for the game against Auchinleck Talbot.

The next thing probably will be the management wanting first sight of the content of the programme for approval. The guy involved would be well within his rights to just tell them to ram it.

Dont know the facts but there was practically no conjecture of any sort on the website. Certainly nothing that could in anyway be considered detrimental to morale, very rarely even a match report from a 3rd party. So I find it hard to believe McGlynn is in the huff. Was very good in terms of facts and records so its disappointing its been canned.

You may as well rename certain corners of the Junior game Jurassic Park in order to account for some of the rancorous old farts that leech it dry within. These types are not interested in getting new people involved at their clubs unless its on their terms and by their stinking attitude, put people off who otherwise might get involved.

When the rancorous old farts finally disappear, tick tock, assuming the clubs don't go too because of their grasping, short-sighted, blazer-wearing, pass-flashing, acceptance of present mediocrity in their striving for past glories, all as justification for continued inevitable journey towards oblivion, maybe there will be something for local communities to get involved in...

"Tomorrow evening (Friday 20 Jan) from 7pm to 9pm, Leith FM's Football Phone-In With Cameron Hobs is broadcasting a two hour special programme on the future of non league football in Scotland.

The community radio station's Cameron Hobs will be joined in the studio by non league fan Dave MacKay and Ryan Kelly of Musselburgh Athletic to discuss the best way forward for non league football in Scotland."

Above is taken from Broughty Athletic's site and refers to last Friday. Is this the same Ryan? Did he say anything which someone at the club could take offence at? Or did someone at the club just not like the fact that he was billed as Ryan Kelly of Musselburgh Athletic?

Following talks with the club on Monday the site will be running at a reduced level till the end of the season

A FULL WEBSITE STATEMENT WILL BE MADE AFTER THE DUST SETTLES FROM TOMORROWS GAME - as not to take attention away from some great games coming up

It should be looking respectable by the end of the month although most of the stats and history will not be put on as it will take far too long to extract the info from the many books and folders used in the first place

There will be No input from the management and no player profile page once complete

The site will though continue to work hard at bringing folk through the gates and helping the club as it has done with EASE for the last 6 years.

What a fantastic post! I will have it in mind the next time I visit our local (increasingly empty) golf club!

That would just be suicidal if that was the case! Surely they still have the html files? Or their web host not creating auto back ups?

Yup should be word perfect for Tuesday just a few things to check, was at another game on Saturday and had stuff to do for other sites.

To confirm everything was deleted as was not expecting to continue. End of the month should be 50% once I find the stencil amongst 5 external hard drives

A lesson for me would be to name all files and pictures etc

Lazy bugger
