Sons on a 3 game winning run, all three games being won right at the death. It shows we have a bit of commitment and battle to the end, which was something lacking at the start of the season. Forfar beat Cowden last weekend and got a point against Stirling last night (Tuesday) and grabbed a late equaliser against us in the last game.
Went up to Station Park earlier in the year and loved it, cracking ground for this level, bridies, great pub. Sadly can't go this week for budget reasons, same team as the past 2 weeks I assume, I know Nicoll has a suspension to serve but I think it's against Cowedenbeath

I'd be tempted to drop young Finnie and play Nugent at right back.

We'll horse that shower. Forfar 0 - Dumbarton 3.

I'll miss this one but I'd agree with that. Not having a go at the lad but he was badly exposed against Airdrie and was caught out of position a few times. I'd also get Ally Graham to the bench and Pat Walker on from the start. I don't agree with the "Super Sub" stuff that some were saying on Saturday, to me you start your strongest available team and Pat Walker is certainly a part of that.

I'll point out I'd rather have Nugent and Walker both starting but doubt that they will

Won't be going to this due to pub related plans, however after our recent good form I'm actually pretty confident we could pick up 3 points. Which invariably means we'll get pumped
I'd think Walker should be worth a start after the last few games. Aside from that I can't see too much reason to chnage the team.

We've actually played quite well in recent matches but still have a habit of shipping awfully soft goals. At nine o'clock last night I'd have been reasonably confident of a result for us but after our late collapse against Stirling not so much now.

Last season this was a home banker...
Great win for Loons v Cowden, but its Son's game for the taking
I'd agree starting Nugent and Walker, So Finnie and Graham it will be then
I'd take a point, but three would be more then welcome,
can't believe we are sitting pretty in 4th, long may it continue
Stenny (3rd) play East Fife (5th) who are all close to us points wise , so half an eye on that result.

Going. We've hit a bit of form so I should imagine we'll have a decent following making the trip up. Despite not having any specific grievance I've always enjoyed beating any of Dick Campbell's teams but he invariably seems to get one over us e.g - last season's fixtures.
Re the team, a return for Nugent and Walker in particular would be welcome but AA doesn't normally change too much if he can avoid it and it's awkward to criticise when we're winning.
Also, I'm aiming for 4 pints, one lucozade, 2 bridies and 1 packet of McCoys salt n vinegar over the course of the day. Healthy.

I don't believe Walker and Nugent should have been dropped in the first place. I also don't really think Graham has done much since he joined, we always look a lot more dangerous when Walker comes on.
I don't think we have all that great a record at Forfar so I'll have to avoid predicting this one

We haven't been playing badly but you are guaranteed at least a goal against us as our defending is shocking .

I dunno, I'd agree with nugent being straight back in, puzzled as to why he was out in the first place, but I think bringing Walker on in the last 15 minutes has really been paying for us, bringing him on fresh with his drive & commitment against tiring defenders has been winning us games

It's worked for us but it won't work every week. I'd rather have 75 minutes of Pat Walker on the pitch than 15.

I don't understand, are you trying to say that just coming up with one game plan & sticking to it forever DOESN'T work?

Very surprised to see Dumbarton where they are in the table but thats what 3 wins on the bounce can do for you. Given our recent form I would be disapointed if we didnt take anything from this game.

Can't agree really. I think given the recent form of both teams I'll be surprised if we take anything from this game. Comprehensively beaten by them last time (at Station Park, the game at Dumbarton was a lottery due to the ridiculous wind). We have been shipping goals where Dumbarton appear to have been clinical. We concede a ridiculous amount of goals in the last 5 minutes of games, Dumbarton have scored in the dying minutes in each of their last 3 games. One win at home in the league all season and we all know that on another day it could have been 3-0 Cowdenbeath.
Yes, in this league anyone can beat anyone on the day, and if we can stop the stupid defending we will begin to win more than we lose but to use form as an indicator that we should get something from this game just doesn't add up.

I'd be happy with that but you are right, Low will continue in the middle where he has been great the last 2 games. I also suspect that Campbell will make defensive changes given his ranting in the media about the performance on Tuesday, but who what they will be is anyone's guess.

Official site seems hopeful game will be on but forecast is frosty tonight.
Don't see anything much between all teams bar Cowden and Arbroath and I reckon at the moment anyone could be relegated or finish in play offs, you just need a 3/4 game winning/losing streak and it'll have all changed.

I'd hope that we can at least take something from the game and continue our good recent run, but whether we do or not, isn't easy to predict.
Both sides are on decent runs of form at the moment, and have been having what I'd say could be described as 'up and down' seasons.
We've been finishing games strongly, which is thanks-in-part to the work Jack Ross has been doing, so that's very pleasing. The fact that Forfar have only won once at home in the league this season (a fact I only became aware of as it was posted on this thread earlier) gives me hope and reason to believe we can get another good win, but this will be a close game I reckon, and I wouldn't be surprised at any outcome really.
On the Pat Walker debate (starter or super-sub), I must say I'd be inclined to agree with those in the 'start him' camp. His ability needs no discussion and his workrate and industry are invaluable to the team. He is a great weapon to have if you need that burst from the bench with 20mins to go, but such is has been his effectiveness over the last little while, I'd rather see him getting more game time than waiting to introduce him from the bench.

Two home league wins so far - Airdrie (3-2) and Cowdenbeath.
Point remains though that we have been performing better away from home.
