Many thanks for the tips and ideas regarding the match programmes.

I should have added that The programmes I have seen at other junior grounds should make their clubs feel proud - even those who produce a few a season.

I take all the feedback given and the many emails sent and hopefully can improve from our base level for the remainder of the season

You could be right there Owen.
For the 1st 4 issues of this season i was doing the printing for the Lochgelly Albert programmes at home. They were in full colour and we were charging £1 for them. The cost of toner etc for my printer basically meant that we were making no profit whatsoever. We then decided to get our programmes printed for us and we were left with a choice, if they remained full colour we would have to increase the cover price to £1.50 and would still make no profit due to the printing costs. We decided to keep the cover in colour with the inside contents black and white so that we could keep the cover price at £1 and be making money out of it.
We are selling out every game now (50 copies) and on some occasions the number of progs available has easily outnumbered the crowd but we still manage to shift them. Our fans have told us that they would be prepared to pay £1.50 if the programme was in full colour, so something we might sit down with the printers and discuss for next season.

To all clubs that produce programmes of whatever standard they may be, keep up the good work.

Still have my copy from when the Vics were there in the Scottish a few seasons back. The colour cover is an eyecatcher and the content was relatively a good read and it wouldn't have bothered me to pay the extra 50p. Keep up the good work.;)
You have to be born a Vics supporter, anyone can follow that other mob!

Mussey Boy, great post. :D

Unfortunately my team Irvine Vics, have never played Musselburgh so cant comment on the programme. ( i did go to Dalry last year for the 2nd leg of the Scottish semi, so I have seen your mob in action).

Anyway I have been a collector of football programmes, senior & junior, since I was a boy and make the point of buying a programme, if available, at every game I attend. I used to buy two, one to read and pass around the mates who wanted a look and one i kept in good nick for the collection.

I remember going to the juniors in the 80's when some clubs had a one pager information sheet, but I never grudged paying as I knew it was an additonal revenue to that club and that someone had given their time for free to put it together.

My own team produces a programme for the games where they think there will be a crowd, and although it is not a rivetting read, it serves a purpose.

So keep up the good work and hopefuly I will get the chance to read one of your own efforts in the future.;)

The programme has undergone a major overhaul for this season. I've got an online version from a game earlier in the season but it's gone on and improved a bit more since then. I will get a more recent one online shortly if anyone's interested in seeing a copy?
