Time for a rant .First McLean is a top notch striker a guy i have always rated highly but why oh why does he dive . Today Beith's winner was a penalty from mclean the result of his antics. McLean is clever in what he did and what he does in the box , he didn't/doesn't appeal to much he probably knows that most refs tend to get put off giving a penalty when a striker shouts loudly for it. He went down far far to easily today and for the referee to fall for it was shocking , it actually spoiled for me a game that the players battled through in artriocious conditions, where a draw would of been a fair result.

When running over to get the ball for a throw in he even mimicked a dive after some shouts from roy fans calling him one obviously doesn't bother him to much being labelled one. He has actually scored 3 penalties in four games against us , earlier in the season another soft soft penalty for beith he scored from.
This sort of thing actually puts me off strikers . We have a striker and had strikers in the past guilty of this sort of thing to btw there just not as clever about it as mclean and don't benefit as much from it as he does .

Everytime i watch kenny mclean play it happens and he benefits from it, he really doesn't need to do this sort of thing as he is far to good for it.

On a more positive note nice steak pies !

No sour grapes ! both teams battled well today in terrible condition's , a draw would of been a fair result and a combination of mclean and his antics and a terrible refereeing decision cost us what would of been a hard fought point.

Every team (normally your opponents) has a player or two that we think goes down too easy whether it be an attacker trying for a penalty or a 6 foot defender who somehow gets man-handled of the ball by a 5 foot forward. Hopefully over a season these things average out. IMO Talbot got a softish penalty today that led to the equaliser.

Who gives a monkeys who boness sign. They quite simply will not pose any threat to linlithgow this season. We have taken a squad who finished three points adrift and improved it all round. Boness have taken a league winning side and ripped it apart on the back of one mans whims. Top 5 at best for boness this year

Holy fuckin' sour grapes!! As I said on our Forum I didn't see it right from where I was standing but it looked like he fell/got a nudge, got back up and was trying to play on as he still had the ball when the ref blew or it. No appeal as he maybe felt himself it wasn't a penalty.

Was it Kenny who won the "soft soft" penalty at Adamslie that he scored? No it wasn't! It was Andy Reid, who was pulled down by your defender who was already lying on the ground.

Was the stonewall handball by your right back in the first half that stopped a goal ok in your eyes? If you don't remember it it was a Tony Fraser header at the back post and he stopped it from going in with his hand!

Or what about your no.7 going down when Callaghan was nowhere near him with about 5 mins to go? Is that ok because he plays in Red and Black?

Thought we shaded it today in appalling conditions and I'm delighted with the 3 points.

Kenny McLean a diver........aye right! Most fouled player about as he's too quick.

Nudge no chance , i had perfect view of it. Mclean is a good striker and a clever one at that he knew what he was doing. The game was played in terrible conditions as you say and by and large in the right spirit , why does mclean feel the need to do this , he looks for it you know it and i know it .
He is good enough to make his own goals rather than be gifted them by a referee who was conned.

did you enjoy his ' dive ' as he ran over to get the ball , brilliant so it was Posted Image

He doesn't feel the need to do it. As I said he is the most fouled player I've ever seen in a Beith jersey. He is a brave wee guy who takes some sore ones. Yes, I have seen him go down with little contact - this is encouraged by ex-Pro's - if you feel contact go down and let the ref decide but Ive never seen Kenny dive with no contact.

You've not commented on the 2 bits in bold in your own post. Or did you have Arsene Wenger syndrome for them ;)

He just being like the collection of whingers who were round about where I was standing who were greeting at the penalty.

If you leave your foot in forwards are going to go over it.

Thought we just shaded game and we now right back in the battle for the league.

that`s the funny thing I had a perfect view of it as well, and I saw him being fouled twice and staying on his feet before the ref gave the penalty ,soft-definately,penalty-definately,goal- most definately, just wondered, when we both had perfect views of the same thing why we saw it so differently, that aside a draw would have been a fair result, some you win some you don`t

First one from a distance i didn't see to well at all , got told by two rabs supporters and a beith supporter that it didn't look deliberate but that it stopped a probable goal .

No idea what your on about our number 7 going down with nobody near him , if i had seen it and he dived or whatever i would say so but i didnt.

there was contact in the box and that makes it a penalty,he did seem to try and stay on his feet as he still had the ball but he was caught by the defender, think its a poor show to deflect a defeat by blackening the name of a very good player, quite ironic when all day long krr players were going down as if all they wantede to do was get players booked

He dived right in front of the ref and Callaghan, no.8, went nuts at him. Play didn't stop.

I don't know where you saw the penalty incident from KB but it was the stone-waller of the season, shoulder high, nearly took Mick McCann's shirt sleeve off from the shoulder down, and amazingly no booking that I noticed.Definite penalty.

couldnt make the talbot game due to work commitments so went through to watch beith v rabs, conditions were terrible even game first half gormely coming close in the 1st half with a header just by the post, he went down v easily on the edge of the box looking over at the linesman saying he was pushed bit tit for tat regarding mclean rrg, beith should have had a pen 1st half beith player winning a header which was going in till it hit the rabs defenders hand which was above his head on the line, 2nd half was mostly beith with rabs looking dangerous on the break, gormley missed a sitter early on, A mistake by beith defender led to rabs striker through on goal but failed to hit the target, regarding penalty incident yes from what i seen looked soft mclean went down then tried to get up, made no mistake from the spot, rabs pulled 1 back but beith held out for 3 points, enjoyed the game in v poor conditions and v pleased to see talbot through to the next round in what was a very tricky tie but after last years run in the scottsh couldnt be any harder this year, talbot for the scottish yet again i hope, ps agree on the pies very nice indeed eeka peeka

christ almighty where are all these beith supporters coming from haha

so contact in the box and penalty ? why are we not seeing 4,5,6,7,10 penalties a game then.

Thought the guy that got sent off probably deserved to, from where i was standing looked two yellows.

Big guy at the back , cherry was it , got to say was immense

Btw when we WON 4-3 against beith last season and mclean got a penalty i thought that was never a penalty either and moaned about it afterwards

look at the footage from this game , he stays on his feet when minimal contact was outside box , yet goes down inside box when contact was minimal, and our player got sent off for that ffs maybe its just me and i need glasses i dunnoPosted Image

around 6.40 is penalty incident from that day

i thought the 2 teams served up a good game despite the horrendous conditions.<br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; "><br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; ">beith should have had a stonewall penalty late in the first half when tony frazers header hit the defenders hand which was raise away above his head(an obvious goal),this should have resulted in a red card.<br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; "><br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; ">the penalty awarded was soft but there was no attempt by kenny to dive but stumbled due to contact by the rob roy defender who did nit connect with the ball.<br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; "><br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; ">suprised at the substitution of gormley when rob roy chasing the game.mind boglling.<br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; ">he would be the ideal foil for kenny.<br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; "><br style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; text-align: left; ">new keeper was sound again today.

our defence looks as solid as a rock
