Folks, I have a mate who knows how the exchanges all work and wants to have a go at them but his Mrs would not be best pleased as she doesn't have the same philosophy to the occassional flutter.
Being aware that you require a bank account to debit and credit money to your exchange account from he is keen to set up a bank account where absolutely no correspondence comes through the post and everything is dealt with on-line. He obviously doesn't want to use his existing accounts.
Does such a thing exist or are there any other ways around this issue that you have encountered??

You can open a bank account and request no statements/mail. BOS/Halifax/LTSB offer this. Can deal with it all via Online Banking.

Next problem woub be how to deposit money into said account - could you wander into a bank branch and pay cash in?

Obviously there is no way to completely avoid correspondence as the debit card and PIN have to arrive in the post, but after that you can deal with accounts wholly online. The only correspondence will be replacement debits cards when the old ones expire.
I have borrowed people's identities to bet with, and the bank I have always used until recently for them to open accounts with was cahoot, as you can manage it totally online and they don't block gambling transactions and don't phone up to verify it every time you try to bet. I don't think they're taking new customers any more though. I'm sure other banks would work just as well. Obviously your friend could get a trusted person to let him bet in their name in this way or just open an online account himself.
Another way is to contact Betfair and open a Master Sub Account (MSA). They don't advertise these, but how it works is you have a master account and can create upto 10 sub accounts that you can do what you want with. Each one has a user name and password, but only the master can desposit and withdraw, as well as moving funds in and out of the sub accounts. The Betfair points earned on each one are combined. I have a MSA for completely different reasons; if you're running bots they can go wrong, so you don't want an account with a large amount of money in possibly losing you fortunes because you put a decimal point in the wrong place. I have given sub accounts to a couple of my friends who bet a fiver here and there; they get the advantage of my commission rate, I get the few Betfair points they earn and since they don't win, it offsets a tiny bit of Premium Charge for me. Again though, if your friend got someone to open a master account and give him one of the subs, he'd have to trust them as they could run off with all of his winnings.

As well as Paypal, you can use Moneybookers, NETeller and those sorts of things.

RBS I bank with get my card delivered to the branch, it has always been the case for me. Perhaps other banks have this option? Try RBS failing that as it is definitely an option with them.

I once got a Fortnum and Mason hamper complete with champagne, port and all sorts totally out of the blue from them.
Generally I don't even get an email about anything from them now, but then I'm probably not the best person to ask.

Betfair sent me a letter with a big picture of Lee Dixon's face on the front. Straight in the bin.

Assuming your mate isn't actually you - why can't you just do it for him? Set up an account with your bank details and give him the log in details (but not your security code for your card - unless you wholly trust him).... when he gives you cash, you can add it into Betfair for him and he can gamble away to his little heart's content.
Or alternatively, can your mate not "man up" and tell his Mrs he doesn't monitor how much she spends on shoes and fanny-pads, so he should be allowed to have a wee flutter once in a while...
I often wonder why I'm single
