Strange thet there's no thread about this one, two teams going great guns and all still to play for. If rumours are right, shining star Stevie May has had his loan at Alloa extended to the end of the season, so th cutting edge that was missing seems to have been added.
Stranraer on the other hand seem to be scoring goals for fun, so this clash has a high scoring outcome painted all over it , probably a 0-0 draw!!

Stevie May Hat trick.... could be one of two scores 3-0 to Alloa or 3-3... take your pick. :-)

We're certainly due a result against Alloa as I think we deserved something from the last game at the Recs and others have said the same about the earlier one at Stair Park. Having said that, I think they are the best other team that I have seen this season and while we played well and passed brilliantly Alloa took their chance and we overplayed and didn't. I also don't think we've been particularly good in our last two matches although they did result in a win at Montrose and a draw at Berwick.

It's certainly a big one and one that we need to be looking to win.

With results going our way last week, a draw would be a really good result.

Stranraer maybe due a bit of fortune against us this season. I thought we deserved our opening day win based on the second half performance (a big chunk with 10 men). Stranraer probably deserved something from the game at The Recs.

As others have said Stranraer probably deserved to get something at the recs and were unlucky probably the best team in the league barring ourselves of course as i still believe we have the best all round squad and if the May loan extension is confirmed that will help even more.

Match of the day in the 3rd division between two really good attacking teams that could go either way but I feel Alloa can sneak all 3 points thanks to a Stevie May double.

My prediction.

Stranraer 1 Alloa 2

Should be a decent game, i fancy us to sneak it 2-1 but i would settle for a draw.

Stevie May Double :) and first goal scorer

To score 4 without reply against your nearest rivals away from home is an absolutely Fantastic result for Paul Hartley's troops so well done Alloa Athletic.

I notice Stevie May got his doublePosted Image how many goals in how many games has the wasps striker scored since he arrived at the Rec?

I think with the double today it's 7 goals in 6 games but not sure... (edit: sevenil may indeed be correct in his post above, I'm only guessing) Printer posted the following in the Alloa forum...

"Really rich run of form, 5 wins (and 1 draw) from 6 games, 14 goals scored, only 3 against. May has six goals in his last three games."

I take back anything negative i said about May he is absolutely phenomenal. Totally didn't expect us to win by 4 goals and was pleasently suprised when i checked the scores.

Great piece of business on Paul Hartley's part getting May to extend his loan. Can only benefit Alloa, May and St. Johnstone. Win, win situation. Can see Alloa giving someone an absolute hammering soon...

Superb record at any level Printer and it's crystal clear that Paul Harley pulled off a master stroke when he managed to bring in the Saint Johnstone player to the Rec on loan.

Fantastic result and a great day out. Was a bit worried at 1-0 about 35 minutes in, knowing we would be playing into wind second half but after a very well taken goal from Stevie May things were a bit more comfortable. Stranraer were probably the better team at the start of the second half with some help from the wind but Stevie Masterton's delightful lob pretty much killed the game. Nice to see Stevie May add a fourth aswell.

Well done Alloa , a terrific display today and well worth the 4-0 scoreline. As has been said after half time we did have a spell where we pinned Alloa back and made it very difficult for them but when Masterton scored to make it 3,with a peach o a chip from about 20yards, it was all over .
We've shown enough this season to make me think we'll be in the mix come May , on todays performance Alloa will be the team to beat.

Alloa were very impressive and Stranraer played poorly on the day. No argueing with the scorline to be honest because Alloa could have been further ahead at HT. Paul Hartley seemed to have his players right up for the game and I suspect Alloa might be running into form at an ideal time. Stranraer have had a good season and shouldn't fret too much.

Buzzing (excuse the pun) after today. That is the best team performance I have seen in a very long time. We totally bossed Stranraer today, made them look toothless and ordinary. The confidence on the ball and passing all over the park is a joy to watch. A heavy pitch, very gusty 1st half did not affect our boys one bit.

Still a long way to go, but today I left the ground thinking we are serious contenders now. (Also Maitland fleeted through my mind, dark dark days, compared to this uplifting pressing goal-fest football!)

Well done to the other 50 or so waspies for making the effort. A great day indeed!

Will Stranraer be putting highlights up?If they do, hopefully they've managed to capture Mastertons celebration! Every single outfield player ran to the fans. Brilliant!
