Details from the BBC of Liverpool FCs very high value new kit deal with Warrior Sports

A very welcome entry into the replica shirt market in the UK. Warrior have more than done their homework with this deal.

More from the Telegraph with more detail.

Telegraph

The deal will more than double the value of their existing Adidas deal to £25m per year. Warrior also promising big things

"We are not the sort of brand that is going to keep out head down.

Hopefully they have done their homework and they don't produce some American style of shirts that don't sell.

If they get this right they could get a lot of business in football and break the Nike, Adidas, Umbro dominance of the market.

Downside for them is they'll now be associating with thousands of racists and benefit thieves.

I'm not really sure how to what degree a kit manufacturer is going to be able to novelise sufficiently to "shake up the world of football". As we've seen a couple of times with the Cameronians... trying to get permission for one-piece kits, and sleeveless kits... you can't go about fundementally changing what players wear. It's Liverpool so you can't change the colour. Leaves you with trims/material.

Nonetheless, it does demonstrate the crazy financial situation football is currently living in, when Liverpool's kit deal is 50% bigger than the SPL's entire annual sponsorship income.

Exciting times, suggestions they plan on a return to a simple liverbird crest.

Any truth in the rumour that the new kit includes an optional white hood?

They may get a lot of money but the kit itself will be bogging no doubt.

Lacrosse kit maker.. Dear oh dear.

I'd give them half hour after the replicas go on sale for there to be flaws.

Make the kit for the Boston Red Sox and are part of the Fenway Sports empire I believe. Not sure how this fits with the financial fair play rules, but I'm not sure Liverpool have to worry about UEFA competition for a while.

Did UEFA ever get back to Man City regarding their stadium sponsorship deal?

Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre must be at a loss to explain the succession of goalkeeping howlers he's witnessed from the frazzled Pars this season. I'm picturing a scene akin to Basil Fawlty whacking his car repeatedly with a branch after deciding "enough is enough!"

Don't think so. It's not that urgent as they have the bedding in period, but it's an interesting test case as if UEFA don't call them on this it's open season for the rest. Anyway it would seem I was talking shite about Fenway, was told this but haven't seen it in print anywhere.

Loved the wee story in the Daily Mirror today, Liverpool had asked fans for their favourite Luis Suarez moments and somebody wrote "My favourite was when he asked Rosa Parks to get off his seat on the bus"
They tell me it's a minority, but I've been there, I know better.
