Mark McGhee made boss of Bristol Rovers

I can only feel for the supporters of Bristol Rovers at this time of urgent desperation.

I think he'll probably do well there.

Oh good God!

They just have no luck. The last thing they took from Aberdeen was Jerel Ifil, now McGhee! RIP Bristol Rovers FC. I reckon Darlington have more of a bright future than this mob!

And Wikipedia is down, too. How on earth could the Bristol Rovers board check his record?

Was he not linked with the old firm at one point?

Shortly before the 09 League Cup final, Walter Smith said that Rangers were about to bid £1 million for him. Turned out to be a lot of mind games bollox although I think Celtic made an official enquiry about him.

He has promoted Millwall, Reading and Brighton down south. Yeah, he had a bad time in Aberdeen, but he did well at Motherwell. I think he'll do alright.

And that was not a good start, losing the Doctor at this stage of the game is pretty catastrophic, the Mafia will be creaming themselves after that kill. Particularly when the Doctor is as skilful a player as Forehead is.

He'll do alright probably. Is it not the case that anyone Aberdeen appoint is onto a loser, no matter how decent or successful they've been elsewhere?

In other words, it's that club that sucks the life out of managers. Look at shagger Broon, starting to show his age now too!

You mean it's a club where supporters have expectations beyond relegation battles?

Seen his interview? You'd think Rovers had been on their hands and knees begging him to come, rather than his having been out of work after being sacked for nearly getting one of Scotland's biggest teams relegated.

I can imagine that he'll be telling everyone that'll listen that Mark McGhee will be managing in the Premiership soon.

Has he not really been a bit of a one season wonder? I think he managed to have a good 1.5 seasons at one of them - obviously not Aberdeen. :D

Then he'll get them promoted next season and relegated the following season. No net loss and the fans get the joy of being promoted for the 2.5 years he's contracted.
