Celtic have won 11 SPL games in a row, part of that run included the 5-0 thrashing they gave us at Parkhead. We have won 1 match out of 8 in the league and haven't won against 11 men in the SPL since the victory over Dunfermline on the 19th of November. In the two games between the sides this season, Celtic have won both, scoring 7 and conceding 0 in the process.
All stats therefore point towards a comfortable Celtic victory, and so it will likely come to pass. We are a team low on confidence facing a team on a domestic rampage.
Hopefully we won't concede early, as we have done in both meetings between the sides this season - in both matches we were 2-0 down by the 12th minute. If we can keep it tight for the first twenty minutes or so then you never know what could happen....?
The defending simply must improve substantially from the game at Tynecastle. If we offer Celtic anything like as much space as we did Mr Skacel on Saturday we will get another hiding.
Hopefully Goodwin will be back, we have really missed him over the last few weeks. If not I'd like to see either Shuggie or Thomson replace Barron in midfield, but Lennon seems to prefer Div to both of them bizarrely. So unless Goodwin is back it is likely to be the same 11 that started the matches against Hearts and Hamilton:
-----------------Samson
Van Zanten-McAusland-Mair-Tesselar
Carey-McGowan-Barron/Goodwin-McLean
--------Thomspon-----Teale-----
0-2.
