What would be the ultimate Third division dream team? Based on playing ability only.

If I were putting together a team on an unlimited budget, it would be:

Antell (East Stirlingshire)

Brown (Clyde)
Gallagher (Clyde)
Marr (Clyde)
McGowan (Annan)

Anderson (QP)
Masterton (Alloa)
Stirling (Stranraer)

Boyle (Montrose)
McAllister (Peterhead)
Cawley (Alloa)

I was desperate to put Jamie Longworth in there but opted for an extra midfielder and ended up with Stirling just edging out Ryan McCord. I didn't go with Stevie May as I've never seen him play. The back four would be terrific, that midfield would both retain possession and win it back, whilst Boyle and Cawley would have licence to roam behind McAllister. The wingers in this division are fundamentally rubbish.

I went with Marr alongside Gallagher as he's been a standout in every game he's played for Clyde but also because the other highly rated defenders have either been rubbish against Clyde (McLean, Duff) or I've not seen much of them (Smart). QP captain (IT'S RICKY LITTLE YOU FOOL) would have been a good shout as well.

It does seem bad me having three Clyde players in there but our defence when fully fit was keeping a clean sheet every second game so I think it's justified.

Don't even need eleven, he could win the league himself.

No Sweeney? Curious...

I don't pay a great deal of attention to the oppositions players as I used to in division 1 but I'll give it a whirl.

Calum Antell
Jason Marr Declan Gallagher Ricky Little Michael McGowan
John Neill Martin McBride Stephen Stirling
Martin Boyle Jamie Longworth Michael Daly

We are a team, of fame and fortune.

If I was putting a dream 3rd division side together and Armand Oné and Stephen Thomson weren't involved i'd allow someone to boot me in the bollocks.

For me, I would have Terry Masson in any third division midfield. Doesn't score many goals but puts in a power of work in.

That's the best one I've seen so far. Summersgill has been excellent in the games between Alloa and Annan that I have attended and I was surprised to see he had been dropped. Didn't think Mitchell looked as good. The other keeper who impressed me was Parry from QP, made a couple of really good saves in our win against them at the Recs.

I think the rest of the choices in the team above have strong cases. The likes of Longworth and Boyle would also have a good argument for inclusion up front (as would May if we are including loans).

I did think about Summersgill but he has not been playing and i thought Mitchell was pretty solid on Saturday, i also thought about Boyle but Gunn looked a real threat against us and his goalscoring record speaks for itself...

I'm amazed Jason Marr is playing 3rd Division football. Could easily still cut it in the 1st from what I seen last season.
Hello down there!

Steven Noble has been outstanding at left back for Stranraer all season both defensively and in attack, couldnae hit a coo's erse with a banjo when it comes to shooting though but that withstanding will be in with a great shout as our POY
