5th v 4th, play off sitters Sons two games in hand though

One word... REVENGE, 3-0thumping to Airdrie back in August in
A 1-1 draw at the Rock since

Mixed form from Airdrie, Sons scraping the wins, could go either way

Airdrie will be desperate for a good result to get them back in the play offs

Sons only three points behind Stenny in 3rd so the incentive is there too

Weather, bit wet but scorching temperatures reaching 9c midweek, SUNNY Saturday 8)

Prediction 1-2 away win, winning becomes a habit !
Play offs live on BBC Alba: 7:30pm Wednesday, 4:00pm Sunday, Mon eh Sons

Clarko is trying to force me into going to this one by witholding sex until I agree to go. I'm in two minds, been to Airdrie a few times and never particularly enjoyed it, mainly because we're always shite there. Might go for the sake of a boozy train day, but the football would almost certainly be a mere distraction from the drinking.
We will never forget you, Guido.

More or less a local game for me, so goes without saying that I'll be there. It has to be better than our visit there earlier this season.

Sweet Pete and Pachyderm showing a strange obsession towards me, who can blame them I suppose

Quite looking forward to this one, easy to get to and has been said it's 5th against 4th so should hopefully lead to a good game. could we have 3 late winners in a row? probably not but you never know in the sheer excitement that is division 2. Prunty has now hit a patch of form scoring in the past 3 games for us as well hopefully he can keep that going on Saturday. All that positivity to one side mind you, the first game of the season was so incredibly bad from our point of view that I still have nightmares about it, surely it won't be as bad this time .. Starting line up will probably be the same as against Brechin last weekend, Walker on the bench coming on with 15-20 mins to go

I too think that's what AA will go for, why change a winning team and all that jazz. Although, it'll be interesting to see if Nugent is still dropped from the side. Finnie did well last week but I didn't think Nugent was doing badly and he was dropped from the squad.

I'll go for 2-2, Graham to grab his first goal and wee Patch with a last minute equaliser.

AA did change the team after beating Arbroath without warning, Nugent being dropped is still an odd one to me though. He's the captain and had played every (or close to) every game this year so far, I'm still not really sure what to make of it so far, it could well be to just create a but of competition for places which I think is quite sensible

Despite some decent results recently we always seem to struggle away at Airdrie, although I think we've got a better chance of sneaking a draw/win than we would have 4 odd months ago.

Not sure if I'm going to this as could easily just give it a miss due to other plans popping up, but I'm thinking it'll be a scintillating 3-3 draw ;)

Although it might sound obvious, this one will depend on whether or not we can score more than we give away. I don't see how Jimmy Boyle can bolster the defence as no matter which formation/players he tried it seems to be just as bad. I reckon he needs to tell them to forget trying to play fancy football in their own third of the park and clear the ball. It would also help if some understanding could develop to prevent 2 or more players going for the same ball. But never mind, let's be optimistic. If Stevenson is played in the middle, McLaren gets the ball in forward positions and Donnelly is on form we could get a win.

Apparently Nugent has been struggling with a groin injury so don't know if that was part of the reason he wasnt in the starting 11.

Can see this being a highscoring game as our defence is a shambles and our keeper is a bombscare at the best of times , which hopefully Jimmy will look to rectify in the transfer window.
Prediction is a 3-3 draw!

A 2-2 draw with Donnelly scoring 2 and Stevenson scoring 1. Prunty will score twice for the visitors and Walker will come off the bench to net the winner.

I'm going to sound a bit Bill Leckie here, but wouldn't it be great if that was what all teams did when they went out to play - "let's score more than they do" rather than "let's concede less than they do"?

Given how utterly shite most defences are in this league, I'd say thats not far off the actual approach this year.

3-2 the Diamonds in this one for me.

Donnelly to get 2 and Stevenson the other for us and Prunty to get at least one for them.

Grindlay / Ewings (as it didn't say he was out in match preview)
Nugget (I suspect he will have his best ever game if played) Lithgow Mcniff Creaney/Finnie

I predict me to over indulge in the free bar, hardly watch any of the game, possibly fall asleep and then get carted home :)

I also predict this, and me to do the carting, as well as getting the blame
